Oh my days everything was just lovely. Staff amazing breakfast wonderful breakfast staff great. Evening meal was lovely hot and staff were great. Thank you Bella, Amber, Laura, Samuel oh gosh so many who were amazing. Room was comfortable & spacious
Rooms: clean, large enough, bed is fine, pillows fine with more available, tea/coffee/kettle available, a/c and heating unit worked Bathroom: clean but feels like you're in a box of plastic, shower could be more powerful, more towels/larger towels would be nice Reception/bar: staff are friendly and helpful Breakfast: it's okay, not convinced I'd get it again (but it's convenient), some items were a bit dry, bacon a bit oily. Location: very good, just a short walk into town Carpark: small but can validate a car until 5pm the following day Overall: cheap and cheerful travelodge in a convenient location
Second stay at this Travelodge. Ideal location, easy 10 minute walk into York centre. Excellent service from Rebecca on reception who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast the standard all you can eat buffet which was plentiful and fresh. Only downside was the parking ( we got the last space on Sunday mid afternoon) guests were allowed to park up to 5pm on day of departure which meant the car park was constantly full. Otherwise a good stay.
Location was great as it was close to the city centre. Service was excellent, especially from the hotel staff and if you needed them, they were always happy to help. The only complaint is that the shower could do with more pressure. But for a short stay at travelodge, it was an excellent stay. The food and drink was also great too. I loved the bar area.
Within walking distance of the centre with plenty of parking. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and had a tasty meal which included a delicious ice-cream sundae for dessert. The staff were accommodating and friendly. We had an issue with the room allocated to us (window wouldn't open) and it was changed without fuss.
Stayed here with my girlfriend, rooms and hotel were clean. Staff were on average decent some better than others. I think asking for fried egg at brekkie when isn't a standard option despite willing to pay extra is a poor show not everyone likes scrambled egg @Travelodge but it was okay nothing to set world on fire. Decent value for money. If having a holiday in York I would consider staying here although would not be my first choice.
Very friendly staff and clean warm rooms. Easy to walk into York and pretty quiet at night. Didn't eat in the restaurant although that appeared to be popular at breakfast and was good value. Parking is free until 5pm on your departure day which is another bonus. Definitely recommended.
Perfect location for visiting York. Located close to city walls & short walk into city centre. Hotel close to busy road but noise levels low. Rooms clean & adequate. Staff helpful. Good sized free car parking available for stay - so walked everywhere .
The basic design of these is similar throughout but there seems to be differences in the running. This one is excellent. The whole place is clean and tidy and the staff did everything they could to be helpful. The only problem we had was at the Costa where staff seemed not helpful at all. But I am not sure if the Costa comes under the hotel or not. So as far as the hotel goes, recommended!
