Very friendly staff and excellent service, plus great value for money. The Premium room is well worth the small extra payment. It’s spacious, well decorated, clean and includes the faster internet. Plus a couple of mini Divine chocolate bars which is a nice touch. The heating control was easy to use and worked efficiently. You just need to leave the bathroom door open for a while to warm up the space. Great to have free parking, in a really handy location and nice and quiet too. In the morning the breakfast was excellent and the waitress was friendly, efficient and didn’t stop smiling despite not many people bothering with a please or thank you to her. For the first time in my life I accidentally left a small bag behind in my room containing valuables. The reception staff were so patient with my many phone calls about it. The manager was really kind in ensuring they were returned to me, saving me a 4hr+ round trip. As a solo traveller, especially, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting the area. We regularly stay in Premier Inns and this one is pretty good! Friendly staff on reception and a decent car park. Room was very clean and the new refurb look is great! However as others have mentioned the radiator kept waking us up as it keeps making a repeated dripping sound - we’re normally quite deep sleepers but this really got to us! The room without the radiator would have been so cold, so we had to use it. The bathroom, despite being really good-looking, is absolutely freezing!! There is a huge draught coming from the sink/toilet backing, which makes getting out of the shower a horrible experience, you can literally feel the wind blowing! Would overall recommend, but shame it still has faults even with an updated look.

Nice premier inn to go to. On the outskirts of Wakefield, easy to travel in but also easy to commute by car via motorway close by. The front of house staff were nice but not the friendliest. However, when I asked for an extra pillow (he first said that I should have one on the wardrobe but there was not) he offered to bring it to my room, which he did and was very prompt. The only negative I have to say is, we had to turn the heating off because it kept on creaking repeatedly every 30 seconds or so. For reference, this was room 102, I do not know if this problem is the same across all of the rooms. We previously stayed in a room upstairs but it was summer so the heating was off.

Tip for this hotel - DO nOt book Early-checkin, Take EAR PLUGs with you and DO nOt reoly on DISABLED PARKING. The entire check-in experience was unwelcoming. None of the staff smiled or tried to make us feel comfortable, whether it was the reception staff or the room attendants. It felt as though no one wanted to deal with guests. Although the receptionist did offer to take our luggage to the room, her demeanor clearly showed that they were overworked and not happy to assist for early-checkins. If I had known this in advance, I wouldn’t have arrived early and agreed to pay for the early check-in. There was also an issue with disabled parking. When we arrived, the handyman had parked his grey van (see attached picture) across two disabled bays, making them unusable for guests who actually needed them. I reported this to the reception, but the staff were too busy to even write it down. Instead, they suggested that disabled guests use the standard parking bays. I found this completely unacceptable. So, a warning that elderly or disabled guests that they may have to park further away and walk. To make matters worse, the walls in the hotel are very thin, and it was impossible to get a good night’s sleep. My room was next to a family with children who shouted and jumped on the bed until around 11 PM. While I understand that the thin walls may not be something the hotel can change, staff could at least ask guests to keep noise levels down to ensure everyone can enjoy their stay. Lastly, the overall attitude of the staff was very disappointing. When we arrived at the reception, one of the staff members even took a personal call on her mobile phone while my disabled friend was standing there waiting for the room key so he could use the toilet. The lack of attention and care shown by the staff was upsetting, and the entire experience left a bad impression. Their personal phones should be locked away during working hours Overall, my stay at this hotel was average. The staff’s attitude was cold and unwelcoming, and there was no effort to provide a positive guest experience. Smiling and being hospitable doesn’t cost anything, but it makes a huge difference.

Had a one night stay here last Friday. Room was very comfortable. No air conditioning but there was a pedestal fan in the room which was effective. The shower was amazing. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. All the staff we met (Jane, Sue and Tonia) were really friendly and helpful.

Superb front of house staff, they attend to your every need, they're very approachable, my room is clean and tidy, although service vehicles that park in disabled parking spots close to open windows and rooms running up past air brake actuators release at before 06.00 are a pain and vehicle fumes aren't good to wake up to either, this place exceeds most expectations but fails miserably at breakfast, 3rd night,3rd breakfast continuity as follows, cold plates, cold bacon, lukewarm. sausage, the only hot thing on my plate is a freshly cooked egg, consistent in its layer of oil. 3 stars as a whole for the kitchen's lacklustre and lazy approach to cooking breakfast. Id have awarded more if the catering department took as much pride as the front-of-the-house staff did in the execution of their duties and responsibilities. Big shout out to the front of house posse ;0))

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room comfortable, quiet and clean. A warning however to anyone using the free phone link to the ABC taxi office. We were charged £15 for a 6 minute journey. We used a different firm for our return and were charged £8 which was more reasonable. An excuse from ABC was their driver had to travel to the hotel then return to town! Hello..so did the later taxi. The lady on hotel reception was appalled at the ABC response...Don't use them@

This is one of the better premier Inns I've stayed. The staff were great and the full breakast was very good. Basic but completely all you need for a simple business stay. Recommended

Attentive staff. Helpful and polite. Excellent breakfast setting us up for the day. Our broader family were using the Premier Inn as a stopping point for a family party. So six double rooms booked for 2 days. The only down side. One teabag and two coffee sachets for each day. If you wanted more you had to go down to reception and ask for more. Reminded me of the film Oliver. "Please Sir, I want some more"

Wonderful staff on reception and the two girls at breakfast are superb. Staff friendly and hardworking and seem to turn their hand to everything. Breakfast excellent value as always and staff very attentive. No housekeeping but staff very accommodating with clean towels, milk etc so not a problem. Bed a little low in accessible room made wheelchair transfer a bit difficult. Bed was very comfortable though. The wet room didn't drain well so we were constantly paddling in water. Remedied this by having to use extra towels to dry floor. Shower was lovely and hot and lots of grab rails. Suitable storage space for a few nights stay.
