Good location stayed here quite a few times over the years.. Ok it's York but for star rating of hotel it's quite expensive. The room we stayed in this time was over the kitchen and dining area and we had a large extractor fan outside our window. This came on at 4am very very loud humming noise so didn't sleep at all after 4am. The rooms are looking very tired they haven't had anything done to them in all years we have stayed here. There was black marks on one of the pillowcases. The breakfast area gets very congested when people are getting hot drinks and people are getting breakfast, needs a moreorganised system Told reception next morning about noisy extractor and they just said oh yes sorry. For the price, you expect a good night's sleep and bedding with no black marks on.

Misrepresented bed size. A 150cm bed is not a King Size Bed. On Booking.com it is listed at EXTRA LARGE DOUBLE BED and indicates bed size 181-210 wide. Not booking.com fault when hotel LIES & Misrepresents their accommodations. Room only has 1 power outlet located at the work table, nothing by the bed. Hotel does have a restaurant but unless you book in advance, NO (SOUP) FOOD FOR YOU. So we arrive at 4pm and no one says anything, we have a nap come out for dinner at 7pm. Did you book? No?NO FOOD FOR YOU. Terrible customer service and attitude. Location is only plus, but Uber is super cheap and getting around is easy. Read my review on Holiday Inn Kensington, exact same Lying about bed size. Standard King Room with a Queen Bed. I can understand the name confusion but when you say 181cm and it's 150cm it's FRAUD

The positives are that the hotel is in a great location, the breakfast was decent and that's it for the positives. The room was quite dated with marks and holes on the walls that have been poorly repaired. No electrical socket near the bed so they supplied an extension lead (trip hazard). No mini fridge in the room to store meds or bottles of water. The anti slip mat in the bath was mouldy underneath. Some of the staff on reception and the dining area were very rude. Choice of evening meals for vegetarians very poor and just the 1 choice. It was our wedding anniversary and they placed us on a table with another couple that we didn't know. We fancied having a coffee at 11am in the dining/bar area but the bar wasn't opening until 12. They had no coffee machines in the bar, just kettle/boiler.

Pros. Location is brilliant. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Staff friendly. Cons. Very tired hotel. Rooms cold. Radiators don’t work. I wasn’t the only one complaining about this. Quilts paper thin. Would stay again for one night. Not more than that. And do not stay if you can’t take the cold. Rooms are proper freezing.

Fabulous hotel! Pristine clean large room with double bed overlooking the river, staff couldn't do enough for you so friendly polite and helpful.I was so impressed I booked for July while I was still at the hotel. Only problem was the food due to being gluten free I couldn't eat many of the meals, none of the puddings were suitable so I didn't get my money's worth. I had informed Edwards before I went.would have liked entertainment at night as TV wasn't working for the full five days

Superb location by the river. Had to change rooms as the window was broken but they were very amenable and changed room without any fuss. Room comfortable but noisy at night as hotel is on main thoroughfare. Evening meal and breakfast were nice. Would stay here again.

Handy not far from town centre. Small car park underneath. Which you have to book spaces. Staff polite room clean and tidy Good breakfast and evening meal good but not too big a choice. The not too big meal choice is good for me easier to decide. Would I go again yes

Our room felt a bit 'tired' but the bed was very comfy, it was all very clean and nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We couldn't get the WiFi on the tv, but we weren't in the room too much to be bothered with it! Delighted it had a big bath which filled quickly. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One note on the under-hotel car park- arrive early even if you're booked in as some spaces are not easy to park in, especially if you have a larger vehicle!

First time at the queen's first impression fantastic we felt welcomed and the staff was so helpful all appeared to be happy in there rolls the rooms are beautiful and clean... breakfast was a help yourself buffet was really good. The queen's is in the City walls and walking distance into the main shopping bit I would recommend the queen's Hotel
