   Lovely clean pens and the lady who worked there was very pleasant and it was clear she genuinely loved cats. My cat was very relaxed and well looked after. Highly recommend

   My BSH Leia checked in tonight and settled in immediately. A lovely clean area and the assistant there Oliver was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He made me feel safe in the knowledge that she would be very well looked after. Highly recommended

   Well to be honest i'm pretty shocked at the previous post because its the polar opposite of my experience. Firstly our cat 'Humphrey' is a valued member of our family and we only leave him with people we trust. Humphreys been staying at Smethurst for the last five years, several times a year and in all that time we've been perfectly happy with everything. Sometimes i've dropped him off early morning and the staff are still cleaning the facility from overnight, that in itself tells me how diligent they are. Its always very clean and the environment for the cats is calm and organised. The young lady who manages the cat hotel is fabulous, a great communicator and very pleasant. If there is a variation on drop off or pick up times she works with you and tries to help...fantastic customer service and another reason why we always take Humphrey here to stay, he likes the staff and they like him. If the previous post is an attempt to disrupt a local business then it's failed because the reputation of Smethurst goes before it. Keep up the good work and thank you. See you next week to pick him up, Humphrey's dad.

   SHOCKING experience – avoid this place if you care about your pet’s wellbeing. I’m absolutely appalled by the treatment my cat received at this so-called “cat hotel.” They fed me blatant lies, telling me my cat was having a great time, but when I repeatedly asked for photo updates, they reluctantly sent ONE miserable photo. In it, my poor cat looked terrified — wide, dilated pupils, tense posture — clearly stressed and unhappy. To make matters worse, when I arrived to collect him, the entire place stank. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable for a facility that claims to provide “premium care.” No responsible pet owner would feel comfortable leaving their animal in that environment. It’s honestly heartbreaking to think what my cat went through while I was away and luckily I picked him up earlier then expected.I trusted them with his safety and wellbeing, and they completely failed him. This place is unprofessional, dishonest, and clearly incapable of providing even the most basic standard of care. They said my cat kept enjoying the sun in the outside space which is quite “spacious” but by the looks of the only picture they sent me, it doesn’t look like If you love your pet, DO NOT leave them here.

   Such a great place for my cat to stay while we're away... he has a good amount of space and can easily go into the outdoor part. Really reasonably priced for such peace of mind. The staff are so attentive, the food is good quality and the location is really handy - easy to get to from the M60.

   As with many other cat parents I was worried about leaving my cat for the weekend, but the staff couldn't have done any more for him. They allowed me to set his room up, bowls, scratching post, rug, water, bedding. For litter They only use wood pellets which my boy will not pee on, but I brought my own wood chippings which he does. Only one wet food available, Felix, It would be good to offer more of a selection, especially as this is meant to be a high end cat hotel. He was well looked after, staff clearly love what they do, he was checked regularly, they gave him cuddles when he asked for it. He was happy and relaxed when I picked him up. Have booked again :)

   Had my cat here a little while ago. Impressions are that it is clean and well maintained. There was a member of staff called Suzanne who was very knowledgeable and set my mind at rest about leaving my cat here that it would be well cared for. I would recommend to any cat owner.

   Staff are very helpful and take note of individual cats needs. Visited several times and the cattery has to be the cleanest and well run in the north west. Initially reluctant to post as it may be harder to get our cats booked into a very well run facility.

   My cat recently stayed at this cattery. My cat is normally an indoor cat and doesn’t like other people or cats. Her stay was quite traumatic but what made it worse is that the cattery didn’t do what we told them to do. Her litter wasn’t changed with the litter given, her bowl wasn’t changed to her bowls either which made it worse for her. When she came home her bed and blankets was wet through. It was disappointing to see my cat through this kind of stress and how no one checked up on her regularly. We also emailed for pictures and to see if she was put in the outdoor pen but received nothing back. We were overcharged as we thought she’d be moving to the outdoor pen but she wasn’t even moved when we to go collect her.

   Luna and Lily have been on thier holidays twice to this cat hotel and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. We have 2 skittish cats who we adopted from the rspca, although settled at home, they do not take to strangers. They have come home both times and back to thier usual selves each time. The staff listen to concerns and try and give advise which has proved helpful. I wouldnt leave our babies anywhere else now.
