Great building to visit It's well-maintained, but it's currently being renovated on the outside so you might want to wait till after July next year to get the full experience.
The apartments themselves are nice (despite the bedroom windows not opening), but the Tenancy Care Account Manager was so difficult to work with. In general, the view was nice, and the doors and windows are very soundproof so you can't really hear the main road outside. We never had any trouble with noise from other flats and it was always quiet at night. We never had any maintenance issues apart from my shower leaking into the flat below, but that was sorted relatively quickly and the guy who fixed it was really nice. My only complaints about the apartment would be that the windows don't open and the balcony is too narrow to sit out on it. Moving in was a pretty long and horrible process though. We were charged a £50 admin fee so that I could take over the tenancy of my friend's previous flatmate, which already seemed pretty unreasonable. You'd think having paid money for the admin to be done it would at least be done reasonably quickly, but I had to really really nag them every step of the way. I was phoning up constantly just trying to find out what was going on, but always seemed to be told that Annie (Tenancy Care Account Manager) was not in and would have to phone me back, which she never did. They also managed to mix up which tenant was moving out and which was staying at one point and get the tenancy start date wrong, so they clearly just weren't on the ball with things at all (despite charging an admin fee...). Overall it took about 5 months to get everything sorted and I was left worrying the whole time that I was going to end up with no place to live, so just a really horrible experience. The only other thing is that when we left they tried to charge us a horrendous cleaning fee and charge us for damage that was already there when we moved in. Luckily we had photos proving that everything was clean when we moved out and photos showing everything that was broken when my flatmate moved in. I had tried my best to clean the shower in my room, but they still weren't happy with it and charged me about £60 for cleaning, but I suppose still better than the original £120 they tried to charge!! Furthermore, I lit a candle in my room which caused some soot stains on the wall that wouldn't wash away. I was happy to pay to have the wall repainted, but almost £300 seems very unreasonable. I paid it, assuming they were going to repaint my whole room, and then later found out they only repainted one wall. Essentially, they did the bare minimum and then pocketed the rest of my money. What a horrible thing to do to somebody living off a student loan :( I would not rent a flat here again.
This apartment offers excellent value for money, with each room featuring spacious balconies and exceptionally friendly staff. Eliseo, in particular, stands out for his warm and welcoming demeanor, which contrasts with my previous poor experience with package delivery at another apartment. I've already recommended this place to several friends, and we all agree that X1 aire exudes a sense of warmth akin to being among friends, largely thanks to Eliseo. However, due to a job relocate , I'll have to move out of X1 soon, which I feel quite reluctant about.
I would highly recommend this apartment. It has great natural lighting from the windows and excellent soundproofing. Additionally, the staff at the delivery room are fantastic, especially the cheerful gentleman who always greets you with a smile. Thanks to him, I'm more than happy to give this apartment a perfect score!
Ive lived at X1 Aire for nearly three years now. Great flats and lovely balconies. Although I would like to see building damages fixed more often and a glass collection at the building as our nearest is very far away and I don't have a car. I've just renewed my tenancy and Annie Merrony was amazing through the process. Shes always friendly and helpful and responds quickly. Thanks again!
Our energy provider was switched to British Gas from Spark Energy half way through our letting without any notification. So it was a big surprise when we recieved a bill from British Gas at the end of our tenancy. When we phoned British Gas, they told us that the switch had been authorised by one of the x1 agents. Add in the continuing problems that all the tenants have experienced with their energy bills - a lot of electricity meters being switched so people getting the wrong bills. On top of that, the building design is pretty horrendous. If you want to live in a room where the windows don't open then this is the ideal place!
Molly and Dennika at x1Aire are great always pleasant and polite. From a business point of view they are very efficient, honest and reliable they are really easy to talk to and there to help with any issues. Great place lovely people.
Molly and Dennika have been fundamental to the smooth operation, excellent communication and general first-class management of X1 Aire, Leeds. I have encountered exemplary professionalism, a can-do attitude, excellent knowledge and open and honest communication with both of them. Consequently, I am a confident (as well as happy!) tenant because of their hard work. It is important that dedication and hard work are rewarded and I do hope they receive the recognition they so deserve. I’d like to say a personal thank you to Molly for all that she does and X1 Aire, Leeds is a fantastic place to live. I’ve extended my contract about 3 times so that should indicate the attention to detail, care and professionalism is a real pull factor for staying put! Thanks, Nadena.
