Good basic sight, slightly sloping field, but remarkably flat compared to the surrounding area. Pleasant, easy going.
Excellent value. Perfect place to park my camper over night - quiet with fab views - the sunset was gorgeous. Really lovely lady who runs it couldn’t have been more welcoming and gave me advice on getting into Sheffield centre for son’s graduation. Yes the facilities are dated but they are perfectly functional and adequate. Waste disposal and fresh water also. Thank you. Will be back as so easy for city.
The site and management its self are awesome. Clean toilets showers pot washing sinks all perfect. We have been twice both times there is an undesirable family on site where the parents drink and the kids rampage swearing playing football at the side of your tent until 11pm. So I really doubt we will be back. We will spend more money and have a peaceful time
We will likely come again and recommend to others. The site has a lot of people like us who live in Sheffield either testing equipment or in my case just wanted to book a last minute adventure with minimum travel. Kids loved it, making some holiday friends. Showers warm and clean but the type you have to keep pushing to turn on again. Toilets clean with loo roll. They described it as busy but never had to wait for any facilities. Pot washing had clothes and washing up liquid which was amazing as I hadn't packed them. Clean water tap worked well. Paying was slightly awkward, you go to the farm house and lots of 'beware of the dog' made me nervous, what if I wasn't meant to go there. Fair price £7 per adult and £3.50 per child.
The campsite is very nice. You can easily reach it by bus, it is approximately 20 minutes away from sheffield center, and a 12 minutes walk away from the busstop. The owners are very friendly and uncomplicated. The campsite is simple but nice, clean and quiet. Toilets, showers and a small room for washing dishes are available. The only small thing we were missing was a drying room for clothes ;) We can totally recommend and would stay here again.
Great site with grass pitches and Lovely views back down the valley. Electric hookup available. The toilets are clean though somewhat basic. Price per night is comparatively low, and the owners were great to talk to. As others have noted, access from the A57 involves a steep turn but it's hardly a problem for most vehicles.
In a valley so lovely views on both sides, toilet block with two showers was clean and tidy, also a pot washing area. Tap water available at various points. Easily accessible location, much closer to amenities and Sheffield city centre than the the lovely rural environment would suggest.
Site was fantastic, basic but perfectly adequate and very clean facilities with lovely hot showers. Beautiful setting and base to explore the Peaks. Only reason for not giving 5 * is the access to the site. We have a large twin axle caravan. The route had looked fine from Google maps but you cannot see the camber in the road. We were fortunate not to scrape the bottom of our van on the way in but the thought of leaving the site at the end out our stay did hang over us and cause stress for the rest of our holiday. With planning of angles across the road and careful packing, (thinking about weight distribution) thankfully we managed it ok. There are plenty of marks on the road from people less fortunate! Not a site we will be returning to with a large caravan but this review is not a reflection on the site itself.
