Cancelled our booking less than 24 hours before we were coming. Terrible. Thanks for leaving us with no where to go.
I had high hopes for Secret Wood Glamping, but several issues forced us to cut our three-night stay short after just one night. Firstly, although the weather was beyond anyone's control, the campsite's location at the bottom of a steep drop near a river led to significant water accumulation. This transformed the site into a muddy mess before we even arrived. Our young children, aged 2 and 3, slipped frequently and went through most of their clothing within a few hours. Additionally, the owner had mopped the mats inside the tent prior to our arrival. Despite assurances that they were dry, they were still wet, soaking our socks every time we entered. The severely wet and muddy conditions outside left us with no dry area to play with our children. Furthermore, there was a lack of adequate communication before our arrival. We received a check-in form a few days prior, in which we indicated the ages of our children. However, at no point were we informed about the site conditions or advised to bring waterproof trousers or puddle suits for the children in addition to the raincoats and wellies stated on the website. This crucial information could have made our stay significantly less stressful. While we were offered a partial refund for one night, it did not cover the cost of last-minute accommodations, and we had to return home two days early. This was particularly disheartening, as we had traveled 250 miles to meet our newborn nephew and spend quality family time together. Such trips are a rare luxury for us, and this lost time cannot be recovered. I chose glamping over camping for a more comfortable experience, but the reality was quite the opposite. The price did not reflect the experience we had, and I am disappointed with how Secret Wood Glamping managed the situation
Amazing place for quality time, relaxation. Great for all the family including the dog! Hot tub was great along with the shower in the woods!
