+ Comfortable bed + Curtain for privacy + Spacious rooms + Convenient location + Affordable price - No answer to emails - Wi-Fi not working at all during a 3-night stay - Bathroom sinks dirty and clogged with hair - Tiny bathroom trash can which was full most of my stay - Overall cleanliness not good - Staff indifferent and not approachable (apart from a young lady with red hair at the reception who was friendly) - Loud doors - Repair work inside the hostel starting early (around 8 am) - Shower stays on only 15 seconds; you have to constantly push the button to keep the water running - No shelf or hook to put clothes on when going to the shower - A large stain in the mattress that can be seen through the bed sheet (room 102, bed G)

We have stayed in many Selina hostels across multiple counties, this is by far the worst. The staff were okay although not welcoming at all. The hostel was quiet but they crammed their few guests into the same undersized dorm room, where there was absolutely no room for luggage and no cleaning was done throughout our stay. The limited bathroom access created hostility between the guests as there was only one toilet and shower per 8 people staying in the room. It was not cleaned at all during our stay, there was hair in the sink and shower area, the toilet seat wasn’t attached and minimal privacy as the walls were paper thin. Not worth the cheap price.

It was a nice stay. Nice staff. Bunks are nice overall but they don't provide padlocks for the lockers and the stores nearby didn't have suitable locks (you'll need a small lock with wires). Street is a little bit scary towards the city centre but was absolutely fine towards the university. Definitely bring flip flops. Price is nice. Would stay again.

The Good, The Bad and The Disgusting! Stayed here for two nights as a group of 28. The Good - central location, comfy beds, spacious, cheap at £36 a night. The Bad - The main bar was shut due to lack of staff, no food. The Disgusting - it's obvious that cleaning isn't their top priority!!! The bathroom obviously hadn't been cleaned for some time. It was full of rubbish on the floor and including sanitary items, showers and sinks were dirty and covered in hair. One bed in our room hadn't been changed. The room hadn't been hoovered or dusted in a while. Toilet walls was grubby. The whole building felt grubby and needed a good clean. Doors covered in dirty hand marks and paint peeling off. The public toilets were filthy toilet seat on the floor!

We stayed here on a weekend where Liverpool was playing at home, so the prices were obviously a lot higher. This was the cheapest hotel close to the city centre that looked to be fairly decent. But at £207 for ONE night, it was highly overpriced. Now, don't get me wrong, the staff are lovely and the location is perfect, BUT the noise through out the night meant my partner and I got less than 3 hours sleep. Now, we paid an extra £18 to get breakfast in the morning and I have never been so disappointed in my life. Firstly, there is no menu, it's just a standard "continental" breakfast. Our drinks order was taken quickly and the gent said he'd bring everything over to our table. After about 2 minutes our drinks arrived (my latte was basically an iced coffee). About 30 seconds later our "continental" breakfast arrived, what a joke. Half of a ham and cheese wrap, a stale croissant and a kids portion of porridge. Neither of us could eat the porridge as it was covered in nuts (I have a severe allergy). All in all, I would not pay more than £40 for a one night stay here and I will never opt for the breakfast. Incredibly dissatisfied

Great and friendly staff. However, rooms are super cold and not very clean. The hotel is VERY loud, don't expect any sleep :) Edit: ALSO expect endless spam over email, messages, what's app - I've unsubscribed three times but still keep getting contacted.

The staff was lovely and helpful but that was unfortunately the only positive thing. We had a spacious room on the ground floor that was very cold. Radiators were turned off so it was uncomfortable to be in the room without wearing an extra sweatshirt. The room itself did not seem to have been thoroughly cleaned in a while. There was dust everywhere, the toilet lid had buildups and the shower was semi-clogged. We could easily hear other guests through the walls/ceiling and especially rowdy people in the hallway at 5am due to very poor door isolation. The icing on the cake was an exit light that, for some reason, was placed right above the bed and left the entire room illuminated in a green irritating light each night. I have never encountered this issue at any other stay in the past. All in all, it was unfortunately impossible to get a good night's sleep here and I would advise others to look elsewhere.

Can't comment on the price as I was here as a part of a delegation. The hostel was lovely and very cosy - the private rooms had a decent bathroom with tall, frosted-glass windows and a rainfall shower. The hostel location was perfect for car and train travel - right next to Liverpool Central and opposite a multistorey car park with lots of places and excellent prices, as well as lots of food places and shops nearby - including a Tesco Express and Bold Street. The front desk was not always manned, which made for a slightly delayed check-out but all of the staff were lovely and kind. The bar staff was also kind for the small in-hostel bar. Cleaning staff also restocked towels and toilet paper in the day. The rooms were well sound-proofed against each other - never had a problem with noise apart from the street and city noise outside. Overall, a really lovely 2-night stay!
