Unfortunately my relative there, he been taken with relapse and after a day seems OK. I've seen him for short time and he has bruses on his face, I am not sure where they came from, but the fact really bad. Staying in Shore Ward, hopefully will be discharged soon. Been reading all comments and have no idea how comes hospital has so low rating, but still working and nothing been changed.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the team of Aspen Ward Hospital for the patience, compassion, and desire to help patients. Staying here made me more connected to myself. Comfortable sleep, amazing food, sufficient socializing activities. Several things to recommend: 1. Allow 60 min of outside experience (woods, hiking) 2. Add garbage bins 3. Add music facilities in rooms 4. Have daily therapy sessions both at group and individual level 5. Provide ear plugs for patients

This was a terrible place. I was admitted to this ward in 2014 and was the first hospital over a five year admission; an admission that I sincerely felt would’ve been shorter if the care had’ve been better. I vividly remember staff members egging patients on to fight each other, being secluded unnecessarily and the lack of compassion from staff. Obviously you have some lovely staff in the mix, but they were greatly outnumbered. The facilities were non existent and the ward just wasn’t up to any standards. I was 18 when I was admitted here after a breakdown at university far from home, I was scared and had never been in contact with any mental health services before. I know that most people working in this field are good people who want to help others in crisis; but this hospital was the opposite of that.. unkind, cold and harmful.

In 2022 I went to see a psychiatrist for medical review and I told them that my condition had improved. It had only improved for like 2 weeks. The psychiatrist made me fill in a review form , then I was taken off the mental health services for 1.5 years. I didn't hear from them and no medical review for 1.5 years. I felt deserted and felt they didn't care. It was only with the help of my GP when I got referred back to them. I have used many mental health services in London from ( Croydon Queens resources centre to North London mental health services) This Park Royal isn't what I can say an excellent service. Hope they improve

This is the worst mental health services I have used. In 2021 and 2022 I had a major relapses it was hard on me . In October 2022 I had a relapse on the street and I got Assaulted. The police came and I got arrested. while in the Police cell they ask me if they should contact the mental health service. Park royal mental health services didn't care. Never received help or a phone call , I even had PTSD for more than one year. When going for a medical review I told the doctor about it and sometimes he deliberately asks about it . That question caused me to panic and it made me sad. He often laughed about it. I have also noticed when going for a medical review, if you tell them about your problem, they often want to sanction you. They often laugh when you express your self. Sometimes lack of compassion. I have used mental health services for more than 15 years and park royal centre is by far the worst I do not recommend this place to anyone.

If thinking of sending your loved ones here please THINK AGAIN!! No compassion or duty of care,Extremely rude staff, , No communication between staff or with patients or family members… ward staff are BULLYS physically abusing heavily sedated vulnerable patients who can’t stand up for themselves as they are not listened to and called Liars! (All on camera) on a daily basis . Once discharged no Suport or after care offered just left to get on with life as a vulnerable patient.. Will definitely be speaking with the CQC, NHS Ombudsman and ICB with names of every member of staff with what I have witnessed Absolutely DISGRACEFUL!

They brought my daughter back from a very dark place within 6 weeks, still a small way to go but I am eternally grateful to al Doctors and carers. You have to be a special person to do this kind of work. Seen the other reviews but my experience is very positive, thought I had lost her. An addition to my review - if you have a relative or loved one that has a mental condition, medication is key. My daughter came back to me briefly but decided nothing was wrong so threw her medication away. That’s the biggest self destructive part about schizophrenia in whatever form it lands at your door, the patient thinks they’re fine it’s the rest of society that’s not well.

horrible people and disgusting atmosphere. this is an environment where abusers get to legally hurt people and get PAID for it. restrained and sedated for standing up for herself. assaulted and humiliated. left with bruises from restraints and being thrown around. no patient privacy and the nurses are sick and make fun of their patients. any kind people that start work there quit within the month, they can’t stomach it. kept her additional days just so that they could get their $3k per day and continue to traumatize an individual who needed help. incredibly messed up, if your loved one is going to be sent there you need to get them out NOW.

I'm currently a patient on this ward. I can say that there's several issues here. Unless your on 1 to 1 your treated completely differently. I've witnessed staff speaking about patient's and laughing. Staff telling there 1 to 1 patient confidential things about others. If you genuinely are struggling I would advise not to ask for anything I've been here nearly 2 weeks and when I ask for something I don't get it so now I've given up asking and suffering in silence instead. I can honestly say that my mental health feels worst now than it ever has. I feel so judged here by the way I look that staff just ignore me. Good luck to anyone coming onto pond ward. Enjoy your stay!
