From the point of arrival to the moment of departure we met with friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble, even though it was over the Christmas period when most people want to be home with families. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The food was good and meals reasonably priced. Complementary electric vehicle charging was a massive bonus as we had travelled over 200 miles to get there. Already discussing when we can return in the New Year.

This is a regular haunt for me. The service and staff are excellent. Professional and friendly with high standards of service maintained. The rooms are a little tired and starting to date; there basic rinse don't come with aircon. The breakfast is varied and good; there's a lot of choice. The quality of food in the restaurant is also good. This a solid and reliable hotel made better by it's staff.

The only thing I would say could improve is let electric car drivers reserve the charger as only 3 on site and add to website to recommend to book a table if you wish to eat as we had to eat in the bar area which isnβt really ideal when you want an evening meal. Our room was amazing very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again

Have used The Bull numerous times but have never taken the offer to upgrade the room for Β£30 per night. For this two night stay I did. In the past the standard rooms had always been more than adequate. A little dated but more often than not with a view over the car park or even the gardens but often a three day camel ride from the stairs. We more often than not get allocated a room on the first floor. So what was the upgraded room like? Well disappointing. In fairness we didn't request a room as close as possible to the stairs and the room we were allocated was closer to the stairs but not much. The room itself clearly had slightly newer furniture but wasn't noticeably larger. It had some nice touches like bedside device charging points. The lights were push button and you needed a PhD in rocket science to figure out how to get particular lights on. The main lights button panel also had a very bright red light which was irritating when trying to sleep. The room was also very gloomy. One small window which overlooked a flat room. Not very inspiring given the window size and outlook from our stays in standard rooms. The room was also very stuffy and the heating controls didn't seem to do much but at least the window opened to provide a fresher environment. On a positive note the room was clean. and the bed comfortable (but smaller than those we had in standard room?) The bathroom was OK but a little on the small size for an upgraded room? Still had a shower in the bath with all the usual joys of climbing in and out made more "exciting" due to the fairly small floor space. In fairness it was clean and functional apart from the pedal on the bin didn't work. The supplied shower mat, like those supplied in standard rooms, was clean and effective. Finally, and in line with our previous stays, the staff were always very friendly and helpful, parking was easy and the breakfast fairly standard with a good range of food options. Will we use The Bull again? Definitely - more pros than cons. Will we go for the upgrade - highly unlikely. Wasn't worth the extra Β£60 in our opinion.

I stayed for two nights and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast offered a good variety of quality items. The only downside was that the coffee machine wasnβt working properly, which was a bit disappointing in the mornings. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. Overall, a nice stay with just a small area for improvement.

Lovely welcome from the chap on Reception when we arrived, nice quite room unfortunately breakfast let our stay down the room we ate in was freezing we went down at 7.30am and the welcome from the waitress was even colder I tried speaking to her but she was very obviously not in the mood! never even cleared our table and we were literally the only guests there at the time we put our dirty plates on the next table. I did mention her when we checked out because she made us both feel uncomfortable such a shame because every other member of staff in the bar etc were charming.

We came for a dinner dance and an overnight stay. Everything was as expected from a 5 star Hotel from checkin to checkout. Quality of hot breakfast buffet was excellent. It did take a while to get to our room but the room was lovely with pleasant outlook over gardens. Regards P Jones

The Bull Hotel deserves a very well earned 5 stars. The staff from Management to chefs Housekeeping are a delight . 10 star service they are a credit to the company. Cannot find fault .We attended our family wedding and the work load carried out by all staff was carried out without complaint and always a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Congratulation to you all

I booked a room here for myself and my partner for a friends wedding using her wedding discount code to reduce the room rate. This reduced the room from Β£151 to Β£133. The booking confirmation only mentioned 1 person on the booking and not 2. My partner called the hotel straight away to advise that it should be 2 people on the booking confirmation. At no point was an extra charge mentioned. After the wedding, I noticed a Β£38 charge on my card. The hotel charged me for an extra person as well as an upgraded room!! We were not the only people in the wedding party that this happened to. It has come to light that instead of discounting the room, they reduced the occupancy. I would be very wary of booking with this hotel as they have only partially refunded me the extra charge and refused to refund me the rest as they are implying I booked a room for 1 person and did not use a wedding discount!! They have now stated that the wedding discount was no longer valid even though I have email confirmation from the hotel that more discounted rooms had been released the day before!

Easy to find and in a good location, the hotel was clean and attractive with ample parking. There was always plenty of staff around who were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We shall definitely be returning when the occasion arises.
