   I would give no stars if possible!! Horrible! When in as a group of 11, the majority of us had a drink but some decided not to. One member of staff in particular was extremely rude and patronising (she seemed to be a manger or just an over-annoying bar staff) to us saying ‘this isn’t a social pub.’ In an awful tone. Where is the customer service!?! I understand if the vast majority or all of us weren’t drinking but this was not the case. We were followed to our table by a younger member of staff and those not drinking were asked to buy a drink or leave! so all of us regardless of if we bought a drink or not, left. Furthermore, we are all 18/19 years old and non of us were asked for ID, are any of the staff aware of the challenge 25 rule!! Appalling and will not be returning!! The jolly drayman is definitely not very jolly!!

   Attended a family member's wake recently, a man who considered this his family local. I now see why! Lovely local vibe, nice staff, good food and beer. The pub certainly did him and his family, proud.

   Stayed for two nights. Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Good shower. Fridge and microwave very useful. Thankfully someone had installed a fan, as it was extremely hot when we stayed. Couldn't find a hair dryer to start with then realized it was on the landing with the iron. Good location just a short walk to the station. Good restaurants nearby too. Pub itself very cosy and friendly.

   Great spacious room, deeply clean, extremely quiet (only 4 rooms), definitely efficient double glazed windows. Hot shower, comfy bed and all new from carpet to linen and towels. The owner ROB and one of the cleaner went the super extra mile to look for my lost AirPods. They even looked in the laundry rooms and he was even willing to look in the big communal bins. What a legend!!!! Thx again x Lovely also the friendly lady (maybe an other owner) who checkout us out even if passed the time, as late. There are property meeting down the pub for Samuel Leeds inner circle. Definitely, this place will be always on our list for the guests or speakers.

   Decent room, was upgraded to a king size, even though booked for a double. Was very pleased. Met with Annette for check in, she is rather a pleasant lady and very helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend to others for a short stay. Sadly I did not have time to take any pics.

   Proper historic pub with low ceilings and usually 4 real ales. Proper Job, Betty Stoggs and the excellent Dark Star Hophead plus a guest. Real ale kept in excellent condition with 10p discount on a pint for Camera members. Staff helpful and friendly. Outside seating to lap up the sun.
