Enjoyed our post wedding syay here. The room was clean. Had a cooked breakfast the next day and always pleased when it's served hot. Would recommend.

The suites are lovely, however everything else about this hotel was pretty disappointing. The food was poor quality - dinner was very basic for the money charged, and the breakfast was probably one of the worst we've ever had - I don't know how they think that's acceptable! Reception staff were generally helpful but we had an issue with our toilet and it didn't get sorted. It's a shame as has the potential to be a lovely place but just seems like the people in charge don't really care.

I have used the garden room twice now , sadly both for wakes. It is an ideal venue for any form of family gathering. The room has large round tables allowing easy group conversations. There is a separate side room to allow for buffets, drinks teas and coffee etc. The patio doors open out to the beautifully landscaped garden complete with outside seating on a large terrace. On both occasions the food and drink have been excellent. There is an automated grand piano in the main room that can gently play in the background. The staff have always been extremely friendly and welcoming. The entire package represents very good value for money. I canβt think of a better venue locally to Caleb rate the life of a loved one.

Really liked the hotel. A group of us met up and they were really accommodating with trying to get us all as close as possible. Considering the hotel is closing down soon everything seemed to be running smoothly. The lift wasn't working so that tested out our muscles shifting cases for the members who had travelled from the USA/Canada! One of our party had mobility issues so stepping into a bath for a shower was a huge issue. There were 2 double rooms with walk in showers and luckily one was free so we could swap our room so the other person could just come to use our shower. It wasn't needed but the red emergency pull cords in the room weren't long enough. If you fell on the floor there is no way you could reach them. Also the pool area, gym and spa were all down steps. There was no slope. It wasn't a huge issue for us but if you had mobility issues it would have been an issue. I went into the gym and the running machine wasn't working but there was other stuff to use. The pool was lovely. I was in there at 8am one morning when it was drizzling and it was nice and warm. The steps to get out are at the deep end, 7ft so for people who don't like going out their depth they need to jump out the shallow end. Or get helped out. The nature reserve was nice, and peaceful. The car park was huge and no problem parking. The hotel was clean and the rooms were tidy and smelt fresh. The staff were great. We had a group of us eating and all 22x three course meals came out without an issue. I would definitely return for another visit. It's a shame it is closing as it is a lovely hotel. Individual and not part of a chain.

Lovely hotel, lots of parking. Room was spacious and decorated well. Bathroom was spacious. Toilet seat could have done with a deep clean. Staff were lovely. We had dinner at the hotel portions were not that big but it was a nice meal (I'm going to put the portion size down to being ravenous that day βΊοΈ not knocking the hotel for that at all) breakfast was nice, I had the full English. Great portion size and continental available for a top up. Overall I would love to visit again. Town has some nice restaurants and a bit of night life.

Went for Mother's Day afternoon tea. The venue is lovely. The afternoon tea was good value for money at around Β£20 and the waiting staff were excellent. But the reason I'm writing this review is because of the strange even thoughtless "entertainment". A live singer walking between the tables was an enormous missstep. The guy was fine. Nothing wrong with him or his choice of songs but it became increasingly difficult to talk and enjoy the food and surroundings. It turned a nice afternoon out into a cheesy mess that will be spoken about for all the wrong reasons for many years. A bit disappointed to leave with my ears ringing and parents while not angry they were bewildered by our choice of venue. I would say please make a change but I won't be returning so do as you please. Sorry.

This hotel is immaculately clean, the service was outstanding everywhere , the room had nothing at all wrong with it ,the product range in the bathroom were lovely.Beautifully comfortable bed with great pillows , slept like a baby. We weren't going to have breakfast but OMG ,the choices were outstanding, even down to the sections of breads. We were so pleased that we decided to have breakfast here as this was not the usual mass produced , cheap hotel style fodder, occasioned to other Hotels. The freshly made healthy fruit drink was a lovely extra. The bacon was divine, along with everything else served . The little added extra touches like the fresh flowers etc made our stay adorable. Congratulations to a fantastic team and an extremely well run establishment.Thank you.

1star is too good ! Didnβt end up staying got a full refund, massive disappointment for my wedding night!!! holes in the wall and skirting board, funny smell, en suite stunk of urine, bedside lamp hanging off the wall, duvet didnβt even cover the bed, bed falling apart, all wood on the balcony rotten and unsafe, curtains ripped. Just generally run down and dated. Looked and feels like it should be on most haunted! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I went for afternoon tea. The outside is beautiful and eye catching, hence why it drew my attention and wanted to go there for afternoon tea. However inside it is dated and the afternoon tea was very basic. It had the look and feel of a retirement home. Itβs a shame that the stunning exterior doesnβt carry through to the inside

I drove into the hotel thinking 'I hope I don't have a window facing the road'... yep.. you guessed it! Double glazing works well! Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel is a little tired in terms of decor and I do wonder why some hotels (such as this) have postage stamp sized TV's in a room which was also poorly positioned? For it's price, it's okay. I didn't sleep well, but I think that's more me than the hotel. I didn't eat there in the evening as the food was a bit pricier than the budget I'm allowed. There's a pub up the road that provides okay food at a reasonable price. I don't think I was the only one to eat out. Breakfast was good enough. Check out simple.
