Best bits are the staff in general and the quality of the breakfast. Great terrace, location very convenient to hang around east London. The rooms are okeish, they could do with new floors (carpet is not the cleanest) BEbut overall bed was comfortable and shower hot, so that's fonctional. If you get similar rates at mama shelter, rooms are much better. If the price difference is sensitible, go The Buxton

The Buxton is a beautiful old pub with hotel rooms above. Stayed here for one night in December in Room 4, which Iβd describe as a cozy double - perfect for me as a solo traveller for one night. Great (quiet!) location away from the busy Whitechapel Rd but on the corner of Brick Lane that has everything from street art to cocktail bars, from a 24 hour beigel shop to some of the best curry restaurants in London. Room had everything I needed, the radio was gently playing when I arrived, widescreen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, bottle of water, somewhere to hang my clothes (although hooks, not hangers). Where The Buxton really wins is on the service front, nothing was too much trouble. I received a pre-stay email asking if I had any special requirements, I mentioned I canβt eat gluten and when I arrived they told me theyβd got a loaf of gluten free bread for me so I could have toast for breakfast. A simple thing to do but a really thoughtful touch that made a massive difference to my stay. Would I recommend The Buxton - Definitely!! Would I stay again - Definitely!!

The rooms are a bit small, but still have everything you need. Perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep. Close to several accesses to the underground. Walking distance from Spitalfield Market. The staff is truly what makes this place great. Everyone was super friendly and super helpful. The complementary breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend the raisin croissants! They always have a fresh bowl of fruit, as well, which they move up to the guest lobbies after breakfast so guests can still grab some fresh fruit throughout the day. Rooftop has a beautiful view of the city and is very cozy for bringing a glass of wine up in the evening. I would stay here again!

Super cute boutique hotel. Rooms were well appointed; small, but I think that should be expected in London. Private rooftop terrace with herbs and flowers. I was on a higher floor so the restaurant/pub sounds didnβt really bother me. Bed was super comfy.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Staff was phenomenal. Very kind and helpful. Canβt beat the location. Favorite spot in London was brick lane for sure. Rooms are small but functional, cool vibe. Enjoyed the rooftop and downstairs bar. It IS loud at night, which didnβt bother us most of the time but if youβre a light sleeper and sensitive to noise it may not be the spot for you.

A really comfortable room over two nights. The location is really good for anyone who either wishes to explore East London, or those who are working more centrally and want swift TfL connections. The rooms are compact, but comfortable, and although there is always some noise until post-23.00 because of the pub downstairs, this is to be expected, and the hotel is very quiet after then, particularly considering its location. Service was prompt and friendly, while the breakfast was very good.

Beautiful B&B, with the nicest staff, great food, good vibes and nice interior design/ styling. A big plus. The location is almost perfect. With almost we mean, the subway is quite close and walking distance. However, the area is very noisy, which is not a big deal if the rooms had a good sound insulation but that wasnβt the case. We couldnβt sleep at all. Really horrible. A pity for such a nice potential place as this. To finish positive, the food was great! Breakfast is a la carte (no buffet), and was perfect to start of the day. We also had diner in the evening. Was very nice simple food, but the flavors were on point. Final note: please fix the sound insulation and it is perfect!

We came for dinner. The food was excellent. We shared several small and large plates... definitely good, even the vegetarian ones (my friend was vegetarian). The service was great, especially the blonde manager. She wasn't our waiter but did come by several times to check in on us. Would come back.

We stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic room, excellent service, terrific food, and wonderful coffee. The location is terrific for seeing London tourist spots and also cool local eateries and bars. Eating at The Buxton itself is also terrific, we only wish we could have stayed longer.
