I stayed here on the 25th September 2022. I booked & paid online for 1 night. It was the worst night sleep I had in a long time. Bed & pillows were very uncomfortable. The worst thing is, they have charged me for 2 nights. I have called no less than 10 times, and emailed several times. I still await my refund. Their latest reply over 2 months later is that they pre-authorised, but never taken payment. My credit card statement shows otherwise. Absolutely disgusting that no one wants to help. Dispute my efforts. Be aware. Don’t stay here. Over priced. Will Rip you off and not help

Superb setting luxury hotel although would have preferred our room to have been in the newer section . but looked out onto a luxury garden from our balcony.All staff excelled in their profession and manners were second to none . The cleanliness was superb it smelt clean !! We had a lovely stay in the hotel last night. It looked so lovely and posh. The beds were comfy. The shower was lovely. The breakfast was great and had lots on offer. There would definitely be something for everyone. Only slight comment was our bedside table was not clean, but didn't bother us. Everything else looked great, we had a great stop over. Thank you.

Unfortunately we expected a bit more from Marriott. Our heating unit was broken and we asked for it to be fixed at approximately 6pm. We went out for the evening and it wasn't fixed. At 1am we were told that if we went to reception they'd get us a new room. At 1am it was too late to pack everything away and move so we just stayed and were cold all night. Breakfast for 2 people was £37 which seemed quite high. It was a two day trip from Manchester to Kent and then Broxbourne. The first night we stayed at The Premier Inn and had breakfast for £10 each at the Brewers Fayre opposite. Being able to compare both hotels side by side, we wish we'd just booked The Premier Inn for both nights. The Marriot Room (57) was outdated, the light didn't work on the beside table, the TV was smaller, the room felt dark and due to the heating not working was cold too. We've never stayed in a Marriott before and after that experience we won't stay there again. Disappointing to read other reviews saying the heating wasn't working. Maybe they could implement a policy of checking these things before inviting guests to stay in those rooms.

I am disabled mobility wise- Room was large, but very cool- once I had spoken to reception- Chris (heating man) came and assessed the prob very quickly!! Within a few moments he said the heater was broken and he would just check room availability - within 20 mins we had an upgraded room and heat! Very impressed!! Breakfast was superb!!!

I have stayed in this hotel before and the refurbished rooms are a much needed upgrade. The new rooms are beautiful, but I only gave 4 stars as they do have some flaws. The shower is great but due to the design, water goes everywhere, even flowing out of the bathroom area. We had to soak it up using towels and then go and ask for more. There is also no fridge in the room. We brought some drinks to have in the room and couldn't keep them cold, luckily we did get some ice so not all bad. Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Breakfast had a wide range of options and staff were happy to help if anything extra was required. The area is peaceful and only a short walk to brookfield shops. I would recommend this hotel.

Got to the hotel and checked in. Was not informed of breakfast times, other amenities of the hotel, no information on where the elevator is or anything. Asked if I could just purchase breakfast each morning at the same price as online. Was told yes. Got to the room and the A/C did not work. I assumed the staff checked in earlier and that it worked okay, but just broke when I touched it. Moved to another room. No shower gel. How is there no shower gel? Called at 10:20 to confirm the time of the breakfast. It is closing right then I was told. As I need to take medication with food we made arrangements to get lunch out with family later. My wife concerned about my not taking medication went down to check to see if there were other food options. Breakfast was actually open until 11!! Maintenance in the room is lacking. Mold in the shower, windows does not open - let's hope there is no fire. A/C is quiet which is nice, but the toilet drips. Paid for the six nights with Marriott points. As a Silver member I anticipated a bit better. Was also informed that when I paid with points I'm not able to purchase breakfast online. I have to pay full price. Wife is very upset and did not eat, but she paid for me to eat. I'm upset too so I didn't eat either even though it was paid for. Not a good start of a nice holiday time. Wasted one of the only Saturdays I will have with my children and grandchildren I have not seen since just before the pandemic started.

I stayed here for work for almost two weeks just after it opened and I was extremely impressed by the level of service. All the staff were extremely friendly and keen to help, the newly refurbished rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom and shower in particular were delightful. Lovely personal touches by housekeeping like the fresh flannels, herbal shampoo and shower products, and great room cleaning service. I'd recommend staying in this hotel to anyone.
