My dog Dede has been under the oncology team from January 25 to November 25, we have had weekly chemotherapy appointments and a three night stay in the hospital ward. I want to add that my dog is very well behaved and I am very particular with how she is treated - The Willows have been nothing but professional and caring towards my little girl and I could not recomend this place more and I have never been concerned about her care. A big shout out to Furgus and Bryn and the wider oncology team, but also all of the really caring nurses who have made our experience a positive one - The day my dogs nasty lymphoma reurns we will he refering back to The Willows. Might I add we travel from Leicestershire for this amazing place!

I brought my dog to willows on Friday with a fractured jaw. As an extremely anxious owner with an extremely anxious dog I expected lots of tears and panic, however the dentistry and maxfax surgeon, James was incredible. Calm, confident and so thorough. I had gone in with 2 pages of questions and he had answered them all before I even got chance to ask them, I felt so at ease and trusted him immediately. I was kept up to date the whole day, the timeline James had expected was extremely accurate. Topie stayed in over night and the next morning Ashleigh, the resident vet updated us, she was kind, caring and compassionate, understood my concerns and helped me stay calm and make decisions. We decided to keep Topie in for 24 more hours to be 100% sure he was ready to come home. Ashleigh and James are absolutely incredible vets and a credit to willows. The receptionists, nurses, animal care assistants and everyone in between that we spoke to were professional, kind and caring also a credit to willows. The service was absolutely second to none, which you would expect but our expectations were still blown out of the water. Absolutely exceptional service and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone. Thank you so much for looking after my boy so well.

Willows are amazing. 2 of my dogs have required inpatient care in the last 6 weeks. Every member of staff really cares about our pets. I would not have my 2 boys now without their knowledge, care and advice. I am truely grateful. Special mention for Ryan and the physiotherapy team and Michelle - neurology. Thank you

When my 12 week old puppy needed life saving treatment I knew that Willows specialist referral would give her the best chance at surviving. I gladly drove the 4 hour journey to get her to this centre of excellence. I knew she was going to receive the best care possible from a superb team. After two major life saving surgeries (PPDH and lung lobe removal) she is now home thanks to Lara Dempsey and the team. Forever grateful.

We were put through to Willows when we called our vets in an emergency as our cat Mars wasn't breathing right. We were told to bring him in as soon as possible which we did. They did everything they could for him, but sadly, we lost him. He went from fine with no symptoms to having passed away within two short hours. The staff were amazing, from Nic, who answered the phone to me and was totally calm despite my panic, to the receptionist who was so helpful, and of course all the vets who explained the situation to me and my partner clearly while we were breaking down and then gave us a private room as we were so distressed. Someone came to get us and ran us through ICU to see him in his last moments, even though we just missed them, they tried so hard for us and let me have some time with him on my own. They were so kind and told me it was okay to go home without making any decisions or sorting the bills out, just to take some time to grieve and talk with my partner about options on what to do next, which I did, giving me to space to think properly. I called the next day to pick Mars up and bring him home with us. Again, every phone call and every interaction was full of grace and sympathy. I called again, later that day to talk about the bills which was a simple process as we were insured, though the admin fee for a direct claim is still £40. The whole place was clean and sanitary and the staff were working their hardest. I am so thankful to have had the care we all needed, me, my partner and of course, our beloved Mars. Thank you all.

I have a bull terrier puppy, he was not his usual self after looking around I found he had been in the bin and had a cleaning wipe in his bed. I suspected he may have swallowed a wipe or something else that may cause him a serious problem. I phoned my vet out of hours call out number and was transferred to The Willows Veterinary Centre. I explained the situation to them and they suggested monitoring him for another 30 minutes and if there was no change I could bring him in to see one of the vets. I was then told before they would look at him I would have to pay a consultancy fee of £140.00 or thereabouts I cannot remember exactly as I was that angry with them after explaining that I had no access to any funds until the morning as I had no card ( I had lost my cashpoint card in the week) and my partner was out. I suggested phoning them in the morning and paying over the phone as it was an emergency. To my surprise, this still was not acceptable and unless I could pay them that night when I bring him in they would not look at him even though it potentially may have been life-threatening. Also, bearing in mind I was not refusing to pay it was just down to circumstances as explained above I did not know I would have an emergency or I would have made arrangements to have some cash on me. Also, I was not just coming off the street it was the emergency number that the vet I am registered with use as their out of hours service. There is a difference between someone who is not willing to pay a bill and someone that is willing but has just been caught out due to the emergency. You would think they would understand that as it’s an emergency, not something that was pre-arranged they would understand that not everyone has access to their money there and then or enough cash on them to pay the bill at that point. Luckily Sparkey although not his usual self looks a lot better today no thanks to The Willows Veterinary staff and policies. I am going to be fair and give them a chance to respond. I will update this review with their response. 06/04/2022 UPDATE ON THE ABOVE REViEW It has been two days, and there has been no response from The Willows. I have also contacted my vet, who redirected their emergency number to The Willows Veterinary Centre. I spoke to the girl at reception and explained what had happened, and she said she would pass on my contact details to the manager and explain what had happened. Disappointingly I have had no phone call back from them either. As it's not my vet's fault for what happened, just poor judgment on whom they partner with and the way they provide an emergency service, I have decided not to give their name but will be registering with a new vet.

It is expensive but they know what they are doing. They saved my dogs life after he was failed by other vets. He had meningitis that went undiagnosed by my local vets. Follow up treatment for his meningitis again although expensive he is recovering well and would not have recovered as well as he has without Willows. He is still receiving treatment but is fit, strong and healthy.
