   Slightly better than staying at a campground. The room was really rough. We could feel every spring in the mattress. The shower was moldy. The tv was tiny and glitched out so we couldn’t watch tv. It looks like they never throw anything out and there was a garbage pile outside our window. We spent 2 weeks traveling in the UK and had great experiences staying at smaller places in smaller towns. Not this time… by far the worst place we stayed in the country. If it wasn’t so late when we arrived we would have went somewhere else.

   Great quirky little pub with a dark/macabre theme for some decorations. Might not be to everyone's taste but I loved it. Also it felt like an escape from some of the pretentiousness found in other parts of the town. Proper down to earth boozer and locals. Thanks for giving us a bit of sanity.

   We called in for a drink during a family get together. The beer was great. It was spoiled by the manager’s attitude when he shouted at the 3 children in our party for playing near his speakers in the covered area in the yard. I did not challenge him at the time but wish I had. One of the girls was still talking about it when we got back hime. This is the first and last time I go in

   stay away if you can!!! we book a night via eviivo and already payed a very high price at the booking platform. we stayed one night and at the check out next morning the host made us pay the full price again, telling us something about a new owner and that eviivo would give us our money back. but we didn‘t receive anything back and in the end payed double.

   Absolutely fantastic we've been 3 time's very good staff and the room number 1 was very clean and the welcome water and biscuits were very welcome Sharon did a fabulous breakfast thanks we'll be back again soon we hope xx

   We stayed here for 2 nights 14th Oct. The rooms were clean and comfortable if a bit basic. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic ,fresh hot and a proper mug of tea. We did park at the pub but are aware there is no parking most of the time. Would recommend

   Visited on Sunday for a drink and the carvery smelt lovely! We decided to stay for lunch and we’re not disappointed.. choice of 4 meats and lots of fresh vegetables, mash and roast potatoes and very tasty gravy. Staff very friendly and always make us welcome with our little dog. Be back very soon.

   We stayed overnight here, and I wasn’t expecting much with it being a pub B and B, but I was REALLY impressed. The rooms were clean and tidy, and looked recently refurbished. The couple who run the pub and B and B must be the hardest working people in Knaresborough- working in the pub till late and then up at the crack of dawn to sort out very tasty breakfasts! Really nice people. Only possible improvement would be provision for on site parking, but given its great central location you wouldn’t really expect that. Well done, very grateful!
