We went for a meal here yesterday afternoon. Its a really nice pub. We were in a party of six and five of us had excellent meals . I ordered Homity pie, which is a cheese and potato pie, it was the last to come and was unfortunately covered in gravy , gravy is not listed with this dish or i would have requested that it be served seperatly. Not what i wanted on a cheese pie. They quickly offered to change it but we were time limited so i ate it. When we got home we were dividing the bill and found we had been charged for three drinks we didnt have. Again i must say they were very efficient at sorting it out.

We stayed one night and ate at the pub. First time visit to this region. The drive in was amazing with stunning views. The town is very pretty and The George is well located. Must say all the staff were really helpful and friendly, faultless service. Food was great, all home cooked unlike most pubs nowadays. Good portions too! Room was comfortable and quiet, slept well. Breakfast was lovely too.

We visited twice over the weekend. We had drinks and enjoyed the quiz on Friday and then booked for a meal the following night. The food was amazing. Home cooked pub food, generous portions and it all tasted beautiful.

There was no more space inside, so we were told to sit outside even though it was raining. Luckily, one of the staff members kindly offered us a table for a shorter time before the next reservations arrived, which I really appreciated. However, when I asked for a drink, I was told “we don’t have a menu, just tell me what you fancy,” which felt a bit unprofessional. I think it’s a lovely place with a lot of potential, but it’s a pity to see how the servers’ attitude seems to change depending on the clientele. You can clearly feel a certain difference in how people are treated, which affects the overall experience.

We stayed at The George Pub and Rooms this weekend and had such a lovely time. It’s a charming family-run pub, and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, exactly what you want for a weekend away. Our room was cozy, spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We both slept so well! Breakfast was included in our stay and absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice between hot and cold options. The omelette and full English were both fantastic, and the coffee and fresh juice were perfect to start the day. We also couldn’t resist buying some of the homemade preserves and jams made right there at the pub to take home, which was such a lovely touch. On Friday night we joined in the pub quiz at 9pm, which was great fun and a real highlight. Everyone got involved and it had such a friendly, community feel. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Great food, lovely people, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Nice little pub. Good selection of beers both for the lager drinker and the real ale drinker. Pub was busy earlier in the day (Sunday) so we had a drink outside. Went back later and managed to get a table inside. The pizzas from the pizza box are fab. My wife had the pork roast and it was lovely. Staff very friendly and attentive. Overall a very friendly pub with great service.

An overnight stay here was amazing. The room was spotless with a huge, comfortable bed. Complimentary wine in the mini fridge which was extra special. We stayed in the beautiful cosy bar last night for dinner which was divine. The staff were so friendly, especially Mark who also served our delicious breakfast. The town itself is beautiful with lovely little shops, cafes and a great atmosphere. Despite the mist and rain we've enjoyed a walk. It's a five star review from us, we'll be back!!

Been coming here for many years and never had a bad experience. Pie, chips, peas and gravy for lunch with a couple of good mates last week, fabulous after a bracing walk. And because I’m from Yorkshire, the pie was excellent but could have done with just a drop more gravy but the again, I didn’t ask so I suppose that was my failing.

Came with 2 friends and their daughter. They come quite a lot but it was our first time. What an amazing place!! It was buzzing!! We'd booked a table so got sat down straight away. What can I say? The food was gorgeous!! We didn't have to wait the service was so efficient! Obviously a well run pub that copes brilliantly with the amount of customers. Pleasant friendly staff that are an asset to your team. We'll definitely be back. Such a lovely pleasant evening.
