We visited whilst wandering around Bakewell lovely traditional pub with comfortable seating and the choice of drinks was great. Good service
Had a few hours to myself so thought I would pop in and have a beer or two. As with other pubs nearby it has the classic traditional English pub interior, with the additional of a couple of TV's when sport is on. There was also a beer garden which due to the weather I didn't get the opportunity to use. I had a Riley's Gold and Alpacalypse. Riley's Gold was very reasonable at under £5, but the Alpacalypse came out a bit higher. Personally I preferred the Riley's Gold, but if you like hoppy beers the Alpacalypse would be up your street.
Lovely welcoming pub. Something slightly different in that It doesn't serve food, and has no games machines. But what it does have is a fantastic ambience , good selection of beers and ales , Staff who ooze Customer service and play fantastic music . It has to be my favourite Bakewell pub. Thoroughly recommend.
Came in for a drink while wandering round Bakewell. Nice little place, lovely service. Had a fireplace going when we came in so lovely and warm after coming in from the cool breeze. Three of us came in and had a pint each, 2 Thatchers and a Salt Jute IPA - £15.20 total
Went to the market on a Monday and popped in for food. Sandwich, chips and salad was just what I needed. Service was so quick and good was great. Staff are very friendly and brought over everything needed. They even put the heaters on outside for us. Will definitely visit again.
Visited on Saturday night, seems a locals pub,everyone knew one another. We kept being stared at which made us feel very uncomfortable hence only having 1 drink & leaving. Shame as we've called in before when live music on
The reviews for this pub says its dog friendly, well beware dear readers! The pub is only dog friendly if you want to stand in the overcrowded smallest bit of the pub with the hard floor. We were growled/shouted at really quite aggressively yesterday by an old woman who I can only assume was the landlady? She yelled at us saying dogs were under no circumstances allowed on the carpets! You have to cross both carpets with said dog to get to the hard floor, so quite impossible to not have a dog on the carpet! I have never been spoken to like that in a pub before, I think she needs to brush up on her people skills! We were a group of four over 50's with two very friendly dogs. I WILL never ever spend any of my hard earn money in there again!
Very good beer - especially local, but above all very friendly service. Beer garden very cosy and quiet.
Lovely local pub in the heart of the town. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Very well kept real ales. Only looses a star because they don’t do food but if you enjoy a good pint in a comfortable and warm atmosphere this a pub for you.
