An excellent local leisure centre, used by our family regularly. Kids' Swimming teachers and gym staff both very approachable, helpful and skilled. The on-site canteen is an affordable and useful facility
Gym is really good with nice workers and good equipment. Free swim is good but there should be more slots and also there are a lot of children there who take up a lot of space. The swimming classes are great aswell for children looking to learn how to swim. Iβm glad to see people are complaining over the same person in the reviews here aswell, but someone in a wheelchair at reception seems to have no respect and is rude and always seems to not care at all.
All staff at holt park active are helpful. To offer constructive feedback they help with membership issues. Advice on which membership. The staff are never ill mannered and when they are not busy will be chatty and friendly.
Although many people have raised concerns about the receptionist in a wheelchair a long time ago, her attitude has never improved. Whether or not we are with children, every time we pass by, we can clearly feel her unwelcoming and unfriendly attitude. We have always remained polite and friendly, greeting her every time, but she never responds. Instead, she stays cold and dismissive. Even something as simple as opening the door is done very reluctantly and extremely slowly, as if she does not want to help at all. What is even more disappointing is that whenever we ask her a question, she answers in a rude and dismissive manner, showing no basic respect or professionalism. Although we always feel uncomfortable, we still try to keep a positive atmosphere for our children and continue to show basic courtesy. However, this negative attitude has been persistent for a long time, and it seriously affects everyoneβs experience. It also makes us feel very disrespected. We hope that the management will take this issue seriously and implement improvements.
Three sets of Gym equipment was broken down and out of use today 28.2.2025 Last time I was here someone left loads of sweat on the seated options of equipment and no staff wiping it down or taking notice? Wr can't use one quarter of the Gym because it's group exercise so I'm 100% disappointed and would like a refund please?
The kids pool is great, when you can get in. Which means arriving at least 40 mins before the session starts and waiting/queuing. They are so slow at processing everyone and donβt inform you when the small pool is full, so have waited in the queue unnecessarily as the big pool is too cold for a young child.
Been going to this gym on and off for the last 18 months. For some reason now the gym tends to be full of numerous groups of teenagers (sometimes 6/7 lads together at a time). They lack any sense of gym etiquette, hog the equipment and interrupt you during sets to ask when you'll be finished. Some of these kids look about 12 and shouldn't be unsupervised in this environment. Staff don't seem to see this as an issue. Will be finding a new gym and know of plenty of other regulars that are following suit. A real shame.
Impossible to get on classes with too few for demand, the gym is poorly designed with no real free weigt area and too few benches (2 last time i went). It's also full of teenagers. Only worth it of you swim a lot or use other services, for general fitness it's cheaper and better elsewhere
Had a great time with my kids and niece today I wanted to write a review to complement the cleanliness of the baths and changing rooms the lady there I have seen nearly every Saturday is always busy and very helpful I didn't catch her name she's short with brown hair she's makes it very clean and after visiting other local baths this year I'm happy to get changed here the other places aren't as clean. It's much appreciated to know that people actually clean after others have used showering areas I hope she's appreciated
