The restaurant is bigger than it looks from outside ! It has an incredibly varied menu including the usual Indian favourites but also a vast choice of speciality Nepalese dishes and even British choices for the less adventurous. Attentive and fast service. There were a few steps down to the tables area within the restaurant, but I saw a gentleman with a walking frame negotiate them.

First time visit at lunch time and what great value for money. Three course lunch deal for £9.95 with a selection of dishes available on the menu. Food arrived quickly and piping hot, and delicious, with side condiments. Drinks are available.

I’ve been there once but I really enjoyed the food and was pleased to know that all meat is halal. Staff are very friendly and food is delicious. I really enjoyed the 3 courses meal in the afternoon which is at a fantastic price of only £8. A happy customer and of course will be back. Update, I’ve now been eating at Gurkha many times and they never let me down, always delicious food, good quality, friendly staff, amazing prices, so very recommended now.

Had their lunchtime meal. Good quality lamb and chicken, very tasty and very filling. Opted for medium spiciness, which had a subtle heat to it. Dessert was nothing exceptional (ice cream with fruit), but after the starter and main and for the price that's no big problem.

Went for set menu weekday lunch. Menu was impressive with varied choice. Had the aloo pakora, onion bhaji starters and lamb biryani. Main was a good size portion for lunch and nicely spiced.

A great little restaurant in Morningside on the main road ok decor may be needs an upgrade but the food is great. Wonderful spicy sheek kebab we ask for extra spicy made fresh also the chicken main course Devine and generous portion. Tarka Daal lovely consistency . The owner works in the kitchen along with several other chefs service provided by three lovely regular staff who always welcome guests with a smile. That's why I keep going back

This restaurant definitely has the potential to grow and deliver a great cuisine to life. The tables are clean, the atmosphere is calm and the food is on time. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was okay, the portions were unbalanced and the menu has too many items to choose from. I would recommend this restaurant to reduce the menu size and perfect the meals it decides to focus on. For example, the lunch menu is a good starting point to taste their dishes without getting lost across the full menu. Overall, I think you can try this place and taste some nice local dishes but there is room for improvement.

Was excited to find a place with biryani on the menu near my accommodation and even more excited with all the good reviews. Staff was very friendly and pickles for papadum superb, but other than that food was quite bland. Portion sizes are huge, but I’d rather eat a bit less but better tasting food.
