Myself and husband have just had Xmas lunch here and it was just perfect! The staff were amazing and the food incredible, can't thank them enough for the special experience, look forward to coming back next year for sure! We'll done to everyone for giving up your Xmas to give us an incredible one!!!!!
Incredibly poor service. Waiter was unbelievably rude and couldn't wait to get us along. Very poor experience all round, asked for clarity on gluten-free options to be greeted with a fairly abject reaction for the hassle it would be worth. Would steer clear if you require any adjustments to dietary needs and worth a think if you'd like to be subject to abysmal service.
I've never been disappointed yet. The food is amazing, with massive portions for a great price. The staff are lovely, and the owners are so friendly, always happy to chat, and never make you feel likenyou are holding them back. We will be visiting regularly.
Gorgeous meal. We dropped in on our way back to Edinburgh for a late lunch. The owner/chef was very attentive and our pastas (seafood and carbonara) were superbly cooked. Al dente and flavourful, with a generous enough portion for us to take some home for dinner! Premises were sparkling clean and there was a kids' special menu as well.
Disappointing meal……… We’ve been trying to book here for a while but it’s always been fully booked when we’ve tried. Delighted to get a table tonight but so disappointed in the food. Ordered mussels in white wine sauce they were basically mussels in double cream, not what we expected as this is something we order often , but ate them. Ordered fillet steak and monk fish for our mains, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement, fillet after chatting about this with the waiter it was still undercooked, the broccoli I struggled to cut with my steak knife. The potatoes were almost mush, cooked far too long and looked like they’d been thrown in a pan to try and crisp them up. Monk fish was swimming in water and as tough as old boots. Definitely don't recommend. Disappointing meal. Restaurant was really quiet so expected the food to be good. Was informed by the waiter that the owner is the chef.
Went for Christmas dinner was not impressed with the price for the quality. Paid £187 for 2 the price was £75 pp. we had 2xlarge rose and 2x blackcurrant and sodas and 10% service charge which made up extra £37 of the bill. The duck &orange pate was nice but it came with toasted cheap white bread which was chewy. Being in an Italian I would have expected toasted ciabatta bread. The intermediate was smoked salmon pasta which was lovely. The Turkey dinner, the veg of brussels and carrots was mush. Again being in an Italian would have expected the Brussels pan fried with pancetta. The cheesecake was cheap supermarket cheesecake . There was a 10% service charge which I did not mind as the service was nice. But I paid £60 deposit which was not deducted till after the bill was totalled which was a bit cheeky. Resulting in the service charge being more than it should have.
Went tonight food was amazing staff friendly and funny price was great definitely found my new favourite place to eat
Food was lovely, big portions, however we waited 40 minutes to get our order taken, it wasn’t until we said something that we were told the kitchen was busy, if we were told this at the start then it would have been fine. Once we ordered though the food came very quick and was delicious, very reasonably priced.
