   Came for a family meal and we were met with either 10/10 food or just shameful excuses for a meal. The server only asked half the table how their food was, so the other half never got the opportunity to send the shameful salt bomb main courses back. It was anyone’s guess who would get amazing food or only get a few bites in before surrendering. The server even forgot to put one persons meal in, so all of our food arrived but one had to wait another 20 minutes and eat alone. While they were waiting for the burger, a staff member came over to apologise and offered if they would like a drink while they wait. They asked for a gin and tonic and were charged for not only the forgotten burger but also the g&t. Our fault I suppose for assuming they were offering it as a nice gesture. They then added over £40 in service charges for the pleasure. Would not return.

   Lovely, cosy and quality pub-restaurant. Had a vegetarian lunch (a good few options there) and it was delicious. I must say that it's on the pricier side for what you get, but it was worth it! Friendly and helpful staff, good service!

   We had a wonderful stay at The Bridge Inn in Ratho this past September. This charming canal-side inn is a hidden gem just outside Edinburgh and near the airport, offering the perfect blend of peaceful countryside atmosphere and excellent hospitality. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated with lovely views of the Union Canal. The inn has that cozy, traditional Scottish pub feel that makes you instantly feel comfortable and at home. The location right on the canal made for a truly serene setting, especially waking up to the peaceful waterside views. One of the highlights of our stay was our leisurely walk along the Union Canal towpath. The canal walk from Ratho is absolutely beautiful, with tranquil waters reflecting the sky and lush greenery lining the path. We strolled for miles, enjoying the peaceful countryside, watching narrowboats glide by, and spotting ducks and swans along the way. It was the perfect way to unwind and escape the bustle of the city while still being so close to Edinburgh. Dinner at The Bridge Inn's restaurant was fantastic! The menu featured delicious Scottish fare with a modern twist, all made with fresh, quality ingredients. We enjoyed Steak pie and Fish & Chips. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting, with attentive service from the friendly staff who made excellent recommendations. The combination of comfortable accommodation, stunning canal-side location, wonderful walks, and excellent dining made our stay at The Bridge Inn truly memorable. It's an ideal spot for anyone looking to experience the Scottish countryside while staying close to Edinburgh and to the airport.

1. Team Pencil Me In ★★★★★

   We booked fairly last minute for dinner for us and our 2 young kids. Not only was the food excellent, we both had the steak pie which was a proper pie fully encased in pastry. Kids enjoyed their well priced and portioned meals too. Colour in and puzzle sheets for the kids. Our waitress was really aware of young diners, swapping our glass for plastic cups and leaving smaller cutlery for small hands. Really great atmosphere too. We will be back thanks so much.

   Had a late lunch for 2, service was very good. We both ordered the roast of the day. One ham the other chicken. Food was served fairly quickly well presented and cooked. My only gripe would be it was luke warm. As for dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding £9 for a thin slice and a ball of ice cream. Its a nice location serving nice food, just a shame as it's a bit over priced plus you get slapped with a 12% service charge! This should be at the customer's discretion. So 2 mains one dessert and one drink each £60.

   Stunning location with loads of lovely walks. Service and atmosphere were frankly second to none. Specifically James welcoming us and bending over backwards to ensure we had everything on arrival and during our stay. He really went above and beyond even running us to our tasting event (for our wedding at a venue nearby) in the bridge inn bus! We returned for drinks at the bar and Alvaro was fantastic, fun and informative and kept us well hydrated for very fair prices with an excellent selection of beers, wines proseccos and of course whiskeys. Due to this I was a bit rough in the morning and Aileen looked after me so well. I have never felt so catered to by any hotel I have stayed in. This is exactly what tourism should be like in Scotland. It felt like I was staying with family. A family with a very comfortable bed and great cooking. Thank you for having us. We will be back!

   We were staying at the Dalmahoy Hotel and wanted somewhere else to eat. Luckily I found the Bridge Inn, what fabulous food, excellent service. We are there twice, the first time we had pie of the day the second Sunday roast. Both meals were freshly cooked and delicious. The Roast was the nicest one I have ever tasted. Make sure you book, it's very popular

   I literally googled "Pubs close to Edinburgh Airport" and stumbled across this place.. and what a find!! Dogs were very much welcomed, as good as the diners were and the staff are so friendly and professional. I was a little shocked at the menu prices at first but when I received my food (Flat Iron Steak and a cheeky sticky toffee pudding) I understood why the prices were a little higher than expected.. the food was incredible and clearly put together by an above average kitchen. Well worth a visit if you find yourself within 20 miles of the place. Thumbs up from me and my 2 girls.

   Lovely stay and meals at the Bridge Inn. The friendliest service we received on our whole trip to Scotland! Loved the experience of staying above a pub, especially nice and close to the airport for our return flight home. The food was fantastic both at dinner and breakfast, and the outdoor scenery was beautiful. The room was a bit hot with no AC, on a surprisingly sunny day, but otherwise a wonderful stay.
