Blunt and Critical Food was average at best—especially the Christmas dinner, which was bland and forgettable. I hope that’s not getting serving on Christmas Day. The most uncomfortable part of the experience was having a £6 tip added automatically and then being asked at payment if that was “okay.” It’s clearly designed to make customers feel awkward about saying no. Tips should be earned, not quietly added for minimal service. This left a sour taste and I wouldn’t recommend the place.

We came to The McMillan for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it! Steak was delicious and service was really good. The restaurant had a really lively atmosphere for 5 pm on a Saturday and although it was really busy, the service and food were still very much on point. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

We visited as a party of five and were seated in a booth that felt a bit cramped, though we managed. The host who greeted us at the door was polite and friendly which made a good first impression. Unfortunately the rest of the service didn’t quite meet expectations. Our waitress asked if we wanted any drinks, but no drinks menu was offered so we weren’t sure what was available. My son, who is autistic, asked for a lemonade which turned out to be fizzy when it arrived. He doesn’t drink carbonated beverages so we had to order something else for him. If we’d seen a menu, it might have been clear that the lemonade was fizzy, but we assumed it would be still. My husband ordered the daily special, which was meant to include soup, but the soup never arrived. His main dish came without it, yet we were still charged the full price for the special offer. This visit to McMillan was meant to celebrate a very important occasion for our family. We all ordered from the à la carte menu. We were also surprised to see a service charge automatically added to the bill, as there was no mention of it on the menu or online. We usually leave a tip when service feels exceptional, but in this case, we didn’t feel that it was. On a positive note the food itself was tasty and arrived quickly, though the restaurant was still fairly quiet when we got there. One thing to keep in mind: parking on a Saturday was extremely difficult to find. If you’re planning a visit it might be easier to come by taxi or public transport.

Really very good steak! Really. Chips were amazing too. The onion rings and Mac and cheese were nice but had their thunder stolen. Special shout out for the jalapeno and pineapple chicken wings - never had any like it and they were fab

Had a very nice meal here with my daughters. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and finished with cocktails. Would recommend the Coconut & Ginger daiquiri. Nice restaurant, and the waitress was fantastic.

Had the £10 steak deal which is good value for money. The menu is very pricey. Decor could be doing with an upgrade as it looked a bit dated, compared to the outside. Service was ok.

Visiting Glasgow for the weekend. Had the opportunity to try the Sunday roast here and it was AH-MA-ZING, great food and really nice staff that made our last meal in this trip a really unforgettable one! The place is cozy but elegant, comfortable and with great music selection. A must if you’re in Glasgow on a Sunday!! PS: The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was pretty unforgettable too!!

I booked out their private dining room for 24x of us for the Christmas menu and we all had a great time. The food was excellent and I'd like to recognise Helen as being fantastic on the night! I actually would have eaten everything off the festive menu - super choices available!

Was up with friends to see Paloma Faith live in concert at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. Went for a meal at the McMillan as my daughter Rebecca works there. We were all most impressed with the steak dishes, lush desserts and cocktails. Wonderful service from all the Staff
