   Have been at other sizzlers and the food should be consistent but was given Maccaroni cheese which looked like cooked pasta with melted cheese on top. No cheese sauce and 4 small burnt garlic bread slices. I had to send this back to get a better Mac n Cheese. There is no way the 1st meal should have left the kitchen. Also my wife's Tandoori skewers were overcooked making it dry and Hard. I would travel the extra 4 miles to the Lord Lounsdale that has never dissapointed.

   Driven past the Gables several times and always said to the wife we need to try it some time. Wish we didn't!! Don't know if the Chef was having a bad day or what? Son ordered the Cheese Burger spring Rolls at £6 odd - had no flavour and tasted awful. Son and daughter ordered the Big Beef Burgers which were overcooked and dry and hard to chew and cut? Wife and I ordered the Tomahawk Pork and seasonal vegetables. Pork was overcooked and veges soggy. Ordered the Skin on Fries for all mains, 2 came with skin on and the tomahawks came with normal fries. As we left the pub i asked my wife if she could smell anything and she confirmed my suspicion that it was the stale stench of urine??? A food experience never to be repeated I am sorry to say!

   Love the refurb as we haven’t been in since it was The Pines. Food was lovely but waited a while for it. Bar wasn’t as stocked as well as it should have been and heard lots of people commenting on this too. Overall we would come back but please stock the bar!

   Brilliant food, steak cooked to perfection..a great atmosphere. Service was brilliant, Deborah is a powerhouse in the Gables..keep her, what an asset to the business, professional, fast and courteous.

   We went for Christmas dinner. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although, only one boy behind the bar had a facemask on. The other 5/6 staff did not. They also did not have a uniform nor anything that resembled staff so we did not know who to ask for help. Although, they were very knowledgeable once we did. For me my salmon was very tough and chewy, for my brother his steak was too. The turkey was nice and moist. Food was very well presented. Very "okay" food alltogether. Very "okay" value for money too. As a pub I would recommend. For food it maybe needs a bit more work. And staff needs to be more cohesive and adhere to current covid rules. I would recommend if you aren't worried about the current pandemic situation.

   Visited here with a friend food was lovely and very cheap. The waiter who dealt with us was very friendly and attentive ,and I would recommend here if your looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful!

   Waited 45 minutes for our meals then only 3 arrived.mine arrived 15 min later when everyone was finished. Lasagne was burnt underneath. No apology. Portions were very small for what we paid
