Wow... great little Italian cafe in Edinburgh. Found using google reviews, reviews on point. We had shared antipasto plate and a pizza. Both were amazing! A beer and a very nice gin and tonic. Service quick and food was prompt. Value for money... approx 50p for the meal.

They were able to adapt any pizza or pasta to gluten free which is fantastic. My husband loved their mussels and their rigatoni was lovely. I also got a gluten free blueberry tart that was out of this world.

Great food! Delicious. Enjoy the mussels and sea food. The spaghetti was great! We walked in without making a booking on Saturday evening, we were so glad that there’s a table available, otherwise have to wait. I would recommend to make a booking in advance.

Caffe Centro on George St. is a basic pizzeria with outdoor seating. It’s small and cozy with a serviceable bar. No frills with bare decorations. The menu is sufficient with the usual starters, pizza, pasta and dessert. It reminds me of a small family run pizzeria which produces the few dishes cooked exactly the same way for generations. The dishes had the feel of home cooked comfort food. Exactly what I needed. Rustic cooking, easy atmosphere and good drinks. Started with passion fruit martini. It was delicious! It came with a glass of prosecco on the side. Sip the martini and then add some prosecco to the drink to dilute the sweetness. Very interesting. Starter was prawns in tomato sauce. The prawns were medium sized and were fresh and cooked just right. Sauce was very good with just the right thickness to coat the prawns. Seafood pasta was huge. Loaded with fresh mussels, prawns and squid. It was delicious with the pasta picking up all the sauce. The portion is big enough for sharing. Pizza was as expected and was very good as well. Another huge portion. The dessert was stunningly huge! Affogato. Two giant scoops of ice cream and freshly brewed cappuccino to be poured on top. It looked so good! Impressive. This is a good place to come for home cooked comfort meals. Portions are huge. Come hungry!

Great food, great coffee and friendly service, we both had the Royale breakfast (2 poached eggs, salmon, spinach leaves, hollandaise and toasted muffin) cooked perfectly and fresh tasting. 2 x Cappuccino and latte’s came in at very reasonable less than £15 a head.
