Bar Napoli is everything you want in an Italian restaurant and more. The pasta is absolutely top-notch — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The lasagna, in particular, is a standout: layered beautifully with savory meat, creamy béchamel, and just the right amount of cheese. It’s comfort food at its finest. Service was impressively fast without feeling rushed, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a relaxed dinner, Bar Napoli delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Italian food in a cozy, friendly setting. I’ll definitely be back!

The food here gave me the worst stomach ache. The pesto pasta was served in a pool of oil and the Minestrone was basically a bowl of cabbage water. I have had better Caprese at the grocery store. The olives tasted fresh out of the can. The silverware was dirty and the glasses were fresh out of the dishwasher and still had dishwasher water in it. The Cannoli was good ig.

Me and my friends went there and we were welcomed at the door with great service, attentive at all times, and the food not only was it good it came out in seconds from the kitchen. Best Italian food and atmosphere, if you want to feel like in Italy bar Napoli is the place to be.

We wanted an Italian meal as our first dinner in Edinburgh after a long travel day. This was a hidden gem where everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and so tasty. They were so careful about my daughter’s food allergies and that was a very welcome trend in the UK. The level of sensitive to food allergies is unmatched.

A great, lively atmosphere - staff were friendly and though the service to get the bill was a little slow, the food arrived quickly. Food was delicious - calamari was crunchy (though the picture looks a bit pale) and the pizza was crisp. Highly recommended.

My dad and I have been going here just about every week for the last 10 years and have never had any problems! The food is amazing and the portions are massive! We cannot recommend enough of their seafood dishes (Risotto Mare, Spaghetti Amalfitana, Pizza Mare, Calamari etc.) Always very fresh! Very cheap and excellent atmosphere. Service is very quick and the staff are all extremely friendly. Hope to be going here for another 10 years!

I went twice. Both times i was treated as I'm eating for free or doing me a favour. No smile or the usual welcoming gesture in any restaurant. I resigned the first experience as a one-off experience. So i brought my friends who were visiting from Australia. I was not aware there was a strict rule to wait outside the cold until we attended. I went inside to inform them I had arrived for my booking which i made 2 days earlier and got told off by the bald guy & have to wait like the others!! Finally we sat down and caught up with a chit chat and wasn't ready to order when the bald guy came for the order. He scoffed & truly made us wait for our first order. Had my friend not been 88 years old with sore feet, i would have dealt with a complaint there and then. Appalling way to run a business. Demeaning when there are other restaurants to go to. Then the food. It's like a reheated piece of beef. Tough as a bark. I travelled to 16 cities & towns in France & Spain with Edinburgh being the last stop. This has to be the worst experience i had in a cheap restaurant with an ego and attitude that the food cannot back up with.

Cold Reception. I got to the restaurant around 10pm and was told I couldn't get a table unless take out so I went out of the restaurant. Just at the entrance, a couple (white) went in and were told the same thing..but later they were offered a table. When one of the staff realized I saw what just happened, he asked me to come for a table too. Although I did, I was treated differently, I sat down and saw them welcoming new people to their seats and asking other customers how their food was or if they needed anything. After I was served my meal I was totally ignored. Even after I finished my meal and thanked one of the staff, he completely ignored me...no smile.. nothing. I felt very unwanted. Although I usually try to dismiss racist innuendos, I can't figure out which other reason I was treated that way because I could totally afford any meal at the restaurant. Anyways food was good but I don't think I'll ever eat there again or recommend it to anyone.

Never been in years, but really enjoyed the pizza, it was simply yet tasty. I had a Peperoni one and it was great, crispy crusty edges, not at all soft and served buy a lovely waiter. Enjoyed this very much.
