We were in Edinburgh for 5 days and 3 of those 5 days we ate breakfast here. The owner is very nice, the service is great and the food is really good. I‘ve tried a Bagel as well as the pancakes and both were delicious. The coffee is also really good. They also have good music playing. Definitely recommend going here! :)
Came here for breakfast. A lovely stop before a busy day. Staff were lovely and friendly. The cafe was easy to get to and within a short walk (10mins) of Edinburgh castle. The food was delicious, the only thing we might not order again was the latte.
It’s great that there is a French cafe, specializing in galettes and crepes, close to the centre of Edinburgh. I have been to Le Petit Cafe twice. For galettes I would always go for the classic combination with ham and cheese, and that’s why I ordered the Parisian both times. The galette itself got a nice texture, with the tasty infill of melty cheddar cheese and ham, and a fried egg on top. There is a good variety of choices for both savory galettes and sweet crepes on their menu. We had two crepes following the galettes - one with chopped pistachio, white chocolate spread & pistachio ice cream which was a great mix of flavour; another one simply with salted butter caramel which was also nice, though I hope the texture of the crepes could be softer and tenderer (I come across such excellent texture once in Paris recently). Remember to try the French cappuccino, it came with cream on top which was definitely a great accompaniment to the food there.
It’s my first day in Edinburgh after officially moving across the country, I wasn’t sure where I should eat as I explored the city but I passed this place and it seemed very friendly. The food was delicious, I had a smoothie (as recommended by the person waiting on my table) as well as two crepes. The service was fantastic and very fast, the food was incredible and everyone was really really friendly! Sometimes being in a new city is difficult, but for my half an hour stay I felt right at home. I would also advise reading the first page of the menu, as it talked about the Café and how it was started. A very sweet story that added to the wholesome atmosphere.
What an experience!! My wife treated me and took me here for brunch. We were kindly greeted upon entering. The interior of the restaurant/cafe is beautiful. It was a very chill atmosphere inside with nice authentic music. Throughout our visit the staff were very attentive and incredibly friendly. We chatted to the owner of the facility and she made us feel very welcome and we learned some history of her and her husband’s business. The menu is vast and it took us a good while to choose. They also have specials. Thankfully the lady helped us decide. We ended up getting a sweet and a savoury crepe each. The sweet crepe was particularly delicious. The savoury crepe was nice but I’d probably prefer a different one next time as I wasn’t a massive fan of the flavours. My wife really enjoyed both of her crepes. I also got a Pistachio milkshake (unique flavour) which was so so yummy. My wife got a biscoff hot chocolate which she also thought was tasty. For my hot drink I got a tea. I can’t remember the exact name of it but it had apple and cinnamon in it and it was really nice. It tasted just like a cinnamon bun. Finally, I also got a raspberry macron which was very nice. Despite ordering a lot we left not feeling overly full (probably about 80%) but instead very satisfied. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The only minor negative was that the shop was a little cold, my wife had to keep her jacket on the whole time. Overall we absolutely loved our experience here and will 100% be back to try more of the amazing menu.
A lovely little cafe run by a young French couple who were very friendly. A very laid back atmosphere and nice decor We had the lunch offer which was 1 savoury gallette and 1 sweet crepe for £11.90 which was very good value. The sweet crepe of the month was absolutely delicious and I would definitely go back again !
I was not expecting what I found. It is a decently sized Cafe that looks high class. I felt like I was walking into a wedding dress shop! I felt a little out of place for a visual meet up. However, as the lovely couple stated "We want our guests to feel like they are being pampered and taken care of" which you definitely feel in their cafe! The food is outstanding and the drinks warm you down to your soul. The music was really enjoyable to listen to. The prices might seem a little steep, however, I personally went with a tea + 3 desserts that came as a 'bundle'. This was such a good price for everything I got! The tea I had was wonderful. Overall, I highly recommend this little coffee shop! My one downside is that the shop is painted grey on the inside. Although it gives this "first class" feel to it, it does come off as a little cold. However, I did attend when it was dark out, I have a feeling like this is not a problem if you go when it's light out.
Absolutely amazing crepes, coffee and WONDERFUL staff ! This cozy Restaurant has left the best impressions! Delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and wonderful dessert.The stuff truly cares about your experience . Crepes are amazing like being trasported to France!! Highly recommended . I can't wait to go back when next time in Edinburgh
