This is a fab pub. We had the steak pie and it did not disappoint. The haggis fritters starter were excellent too. Great relaxed atmosphere and friendly but unobtrusive staff. Would highly recommmed for excellent pub grub and delicious steak pie.
We ordered the steak sandwich and the steak pie. The steak pie was absolutely delicious — scottish style, rich flavour and perfectly cooked. The steak sandwich had great seasoning, but the beef was a bit undercooked and had a slight off smell, which was a bit disappointing. The service was super warm and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was lovely. Great vibes and attentive staff made the experience enjoyable! Would like to come back :)
We visited on a Tuesday during quiet hours. The service was good, the fish and chips were quite adequate in portion, but the fish had absorbed too much oil, the same was true for the onion rings. The fries were homemade but tasteless. The tartar sauce was great, on the contrary. The garlic bread was also quite tasty and a good portion.
A proper place to get some good food with outstanding service. Place is more for locals and that explains, in my opinion, the great service. Food is at it's best. 10+ for the trying of the affogato but the affogato itself was so-so. Anyway, if you look for the seriously good spot to have some very good food, look no further, you have arrived to the right place.
Excellent pub and stunning food!!! My husband loved the black pudding on a salad. I loved the soup so much. We will def come here again when we come back.
I love the pie and I love the ice cream which was so real and real home made ice cream experience Pie was so delicious!!! And the venison (deer) meat was very delicious too . Staff were lovely and make me feel comfortable despite of the opposing efforts of the “guys”
Perfect. Genuine homemade taste, fabulous ingredient quality, great drinks and local atmosphere. Absolutely 12/10 no complaints whatsoever
We had the most absolute pleasant experience at The Orchard. Staff was super lovely and the food and beers absolutely delicious. Great attention to details in a stunning charming venue where we felt very warmly welcomed. It is located in an area just 15 mins away from Princes Street, away from the frenzy of the most touristic area and extremely close to Water Lieth. Highly recommend.
Nice bar, had not been in before. Just on outskirts of city centre. Good location for pint and/or food before or after visit to Botanic gardens or doing The Water of Leith walk. Very friendly staff. Clean pleasant environment. Did not try the food but looks good (I’ll take their word that their steak pie is legendary- might go back to confirm), child friendly.
First time I've been for food having been just for drinks before. Service was great and really friendly. I had the fish & chips: fish was crispy, tasty and not greasy and the chips were next level skin-on 'rooster' ones. Only minor thing was it was a wee bit on the chilly side even with the radiator on but we were right at the window. I also got a taste of the steak pie (helped with the leftovers) it was also really good. Oh and couldn't resist the sticky toffee pudding and glad I didn't. Will definitely be back!
