It was so delicious that we a group of six ordered 6-7 dishes twice during our short stay at Edinburgh. The fried noodle with prawn was really good. Not oily at all and full of the Hongkong “zest of wok” which made it smell and taste good. That’s a good yardstick of its Cantonese dishes. Highly recommended.

Karen’s Unicorn is currently closed for dine-in but you can order in restaurant for takeaway. The food was warm and on time and the person who helped us was quick and friendly. The food was great, though not quite what we expected. I found the menu a bit hard to navigate but we got what we wanted. Spring rolls were delicious!

First visit to this restaurant after a recommendation by friends Arrived without a reservation and the staff couldn’t have been nicer, needed table back in 1hr 20mins and that was fine because service was super quick Food was freshly cooked, hot and quite tasty although we weren’t overly impressed with the quality of the meat in the beef and black bean & the fillet steak Cantonese! Unfortunately I’ve had better many times so probably wouldn’t rush back. Nice enough but I do think there are better Chinese restaurants

We tried this because its near where we stayed. The food overall were ok. The duck wrap is the highlight of the meal, as well as the roast pork , pork ribs and prawn toast. Lemon chicken was ok, the fish and soup were not so much taste. Would come back for the duck though. Very fast serving too.

Lovely place with excellent service, cozy ambiance and delicious food. Had the dim sum (highly recommended), pork belly bao, honey roast pork (recommended) and beef with chillin and black beans. Everything was tasty and I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a no frills, comfortable experience. £40 per person including starters, mains, bottle of wine and tip.

Definitely deserves 5*! One of the best Chinese meals that I have had in a long time. Service was spot on. Food was delicious and perfectly presented. I've not tried other Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh but you definitely won't be disappointed if you choose this one.

Delicious food! Didn't go inside but had a really slick takeaway ordering machine at the door. Lovely and helpful staff as well.

This meal was fabulous. We had the small sharing platter, crispy beef peking sauce, chicken in black bean, thin noodles and egg fried rice. It was all amazing. The staff were also superb, very friendly, attentive but not over bearing. Definitely coming back here the next time we are in Edinburgh. Worth booking in advance.

Absolutely delicious. Is now up there as one of my favourite Cantonese/Chinese restaurants after the first visit. Food was fresh, you could tell by the quality of the meat. I loved that the crispy chicken was still crispy even in the sauce. Interior is beautiful and staff were lovely. It is popular though, when we arrived at opening we were lucky to get a seat as most tables were already reserved. Understood why, it definitely lives up to the rank of top rated restaurant. Left feeling full and satisfied, not bloated or queasy like some places can leave you feeling.
