Overall, an inexpensive place for a very great deal. You can get an afternoon meal deal (entree, mains and desserts) for £15.90, which is definitely a bargain! The steak frites and french onion soup are probably their best sellers / iconic dishes. Needless to say, they were very delicious. The pate was also very tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. Only downside of this restaurant is that it takes a while for them to notice you even if the restaurant is not that busy. We stood at the entrance for a while before the staff decided to help us, and even when ordering, the staff took a while before taking our orders.

Really good food and great value for money for a 3-course lunch! The French onion soup with the steak frites and chocolate mouse dessert is so delicious, I could literally eat everyday if I had the money lol The atmosphere is so nice with the dimmed lighting and the aesthetic they have going on is really nice. Best spot hands down! Been over 10 times now I’m addicted and have never been disappointed only more impressed every time!

Came for lunch. We had a reservation. Incredibly crowded and loud inside. Decorated nicely, looks very cool, and definitely vibrant, but too loud honestly. Our food took very long to come out but it seemed like this wasn’t just our table. We ordered the Toulouse sausage and bolognese. They were fine. Not bad at all, not amazing at all. Just alright! Probably overpriced for what they were.

Yes ... it's kinda noisy... but that is because it's, deservedly, popular! Great value lunch menu which is highly recommended. Was particularly busy as Edinburgh Fringe but service was prompt, not very French, but appreciated with an itinerary.

We had the beef tartare and mussels cooked in white wine. Great food quantity and quality. The house wine was delicious. This place is always full and you cannot get a table without reservations so make sure you book in advance! The seating arrangement is a bit crowded so you won’t have much privacy to talk to your group/companion. Although the free baguette, salami and olives are a great mood booster!

The place was so lovely and quaint. No fuss walk in lunch just like in most popular French places. Steak fries and onion soup were lovely. Rabbit stew was almost inedible due to it being over seasoned. Have told the waitresses our review. Hopefully next time they will fix this.

What an amazing place. The atmosphere is fabulous and it is always very busy so make sure to book if you don’t want to wait for a table. The lunch menu is a fabulous deal and it is very delicious. The food is always great in here. They also give you free salad, salami, olives and bread to start which is really surprised me! It’s definitely become a staple of mine and i have recommended this place to everyone. Definitely give it a try!

We've been meaning to come to Chez Jules for so long and I'm so glad that it didn't disappoint. Upon being seated we were given a small dressed side salad, some beautifully fresh bread and butter, very tasty cured meat and olives, all complimentary. A lovely start to our experience! We had 2 courses from the lunch menu, my partner had the goats cheese salad and I had the terrine, we both had the steak frites with peppercorn sauce. All of it seasoned and cooked to perfection. All of this for under £10 each, without sacrificing quality, is incredible. We will definitely be back to try out some more of the menu!

A wonderful experience in the heart of Edinburgh. Truly evoked memories of many Parisian meals over the years. A lively atmosphere with lovely tasty food at a very reasonable price. Fabulous.
