   I recently had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Andaluz in Edinburgh, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere was warm and buzzing, with beautiful tiled tables that instantly transported us to Spain, but the real star of the show was the food. We ordered a selection of tapas to share, and honestly, every single dish was a hit. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were authentic and bold. Here were the highlights from our meal: * Vieiras con Serrano: These scallops were absolutely incredible. They were perfectly seared and served in a rich basil and leek cream sauce that I wanted to mop up with bread. * Butifarra Negra: A surprising favorite! The black pudding paired with a perfectly poached egg and hollandaise sauce was such a sophisticated and savory combination. * Croquetas de Jamón: You can’t do tapas without croquettes, and these were spot on—crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth creamy on the inside. * Patatas Gratinadas: The ultimate comfort food. The potatoes were tender and bubbling with plenty of cheesy garlic cream. * Pollo Sofrito: The chicken was tender and the paprika and lemon marinade gave it a lovely, zesty kick. We saved just enough room for dessert, which was a decadent chocolate treat topped with ice cream—the perfect sweet ending to a savory meal. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. If you are in Edinburgh and craving high-quality tapas, Cafe Andaluz is a must-visit. I’m already planning my next trip back!

   We came to this Spanish restaurant expecting good food, but we were not prepared for the full Alfonso Experience™. Alfonso, took care of us like we were royalty — or at least like we were the only table that looked like trouble. He kept checking on us, recommending dishes, and giving us tips “for later tonight”… including a detailed briefing on where the gatas come out after dark. Five stars for the unexpected nightlife education. The food? Amazing. Real Spanish flavors, big portions, and plates arriving faster than Alfonso saying, “Are you guys okay? Need anything? Want to know where the gatas are?” The man works harder than my phone battery on a Friday night. The atmosphere was fun, the service was top-tier, and honestly, Alfonso deserves his own TV show. If you want great food, VIP treatment, and a manager who gives you tourism advice spicy enough to make Google Maps blush, this is your spot. — We’ll definitely come back. Not sure if it’s for the food, Alfonso, or the gatas… probably all three.

   Though not so hidden, this was a hidden gem for us as we had not planned on visiting. We had time to spear before our ride on the Ghost Bus Tours and ended up to Cafe Andaluz because it's located next to the bus stop. I was SO glad we ended up there because it was one of our favorite dining experiences of the entire trip! The service was very warm and personal and felt approachable. We got a table with a beautiful view of the city. The space is beautiful but what was absolutely pre-eminent was the food that surpassed any other categories for review in quality. I'm actually not a foodie, nor a huge fan of Spanish kitchen, but the flavors and tastes in Cafe Andaluz were some of the best I've ever had. An absolute top priority restaurant on my next visit!

   So lovely inside, the decor is amazing. Service was amazing — fast waiting times and super friendly and fun staff. The food was scrumptious and there are so many options! Be aware the cost does add up more than you’d expect as you are advised to get 2-3 tapas per person and then there’s sides, starters and drinks. Would highly recommend!

   Amazing tapas place! Our waiter was super nice and friendly and suggested us some variety of dishes, and we ordered around 3 tapas per person and it was enough food for all of us to share! The chorizo was really really good and I’d recommend, along with the patatas gratinadas.

   It's a weeknight. Business is good, but it's not noisy at all, and you can see the sunset from the window, and the lighting is beautiful. The waiters were nice, the food was quick, and the asparagus was delicious. The paella is a huge amount, filling for two. The ingredients are rich and fresh, but the flavor is a bit bland and the rice is soft and stale. I also ordered a cocktail, the red wine is very mellow

   Popped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, it was very quiet. Service was quick and the food was so tasty. We got the lunch deal with desserts and couldn't fault a thing, everything was fantastic. So many options even on the lunch menu and plenty of vegetarian dishes too. We were absolutely stuffed!

   First time here. We booked a table for 9.30pm. On arrival we went greeted and shown our table. Staff are friendly and attentive. The sangria is lovely as is the food, the only complaint I had was were ordered another prawn tapa before the kitchen closed and it was so different from the 1st one although they were the same dish so really I would give 8/10 as everything had been perfect to this point. In terms of price I found it to be quite reasonable. Really liked the rustic Spanish decor and would most definitely return.

   I’ve been a few times and each time has been great. Good service from attentive staff, large selection of tapas that all taste great, desserts were delicious. Nice wine selection to accompany the food (the staff recommended well too). Reasonably spacious, good distance between tables/booths. View is also nice if you’re going during the day.
