We have just had a lovely vegan meal in this pub, and the staff couldn't have been nicer! Ben and Kirsty were particularly great! We will definitely return if we're in the area!

We were travelling from Bath and looking for somewhere to eat before continuing with the rest of our journey. We looked on the map and thought the reviews were good and it looked a nice place to stop. Plenty of parking is available. We went in and enquired about food. We ordered and it was all quite smooth sailing….. 50 mins later we were still waiting for our food. We enquired what was happening as there were only 4 occupied tables and we were still waiting. The waitress said the food would be out in 5 mins. 15 mins later we went to ask where our food was. Soon afterwards it was brought to us and the waitress apologised but also said, “there was a 45 min wait on food” no where were we told that. Also the table next to us came in 30+ mins after us and their food arrived at the same time as ours, but I thought we have our food so let’s just have a nice meal. The food order was wrong but I wasn’t going to argue as by that point we were ravenous and there wasn’t a staff member in sight to raise it with. I cut into the fish and it was overcooked, chewy and lukewarm, I didn’t eat it. My friend said the pie they had ordered was nice, but again the accompaniments were wrong. It’s a real shame as now we have to often travel past now, and we wanted it to become a regular pit-stop on our journey.

Came here for a meal with some friends, but it was the worst meal I’ve ever had in a restaurant and the worst service too. Firstly, they pointed to our table rather than walking us to it. When giving us menus, they said they didn’t have about 5 options on the menu, which was basically half the menu. About 20 minutes later they came to take our drinks order. After about another 15 minutes, we asked where our drinks were. And they were brought out straight away, so must have been made and waiting to be taken out. 20 minutes after taking our food order, they came out to say they didn’t have the pie we asked for. So at this point we were wondering why they had taken so long to tell us this, and presumed they hadn’t even started cooking our food! Another 20 minutes and the food eventually comes out. Meanwhile other tables were being served food before us, who had arrived after us. When the food eventually came out, there was no apology or anything, but she did offer to give us a discount. The food was terrible, I had hunters chickens with chips and peas. The peas were yellow and hard, the chicken was so tough I could barely cut through it. The chips were the only decent thing about it. The waitress took ages to take our plates. We then decided to go to the bar to pay as we were fed up of waiting. I would have had pudding but I didn’t want that to take another hour and never even got asked if we wanted pudding! I have been here a few years before and it was good, but I am extremely disappointed at the service and standard of this visit. If it had been busy, I would understand the wait time. But for a Saturday night there was only a handful of tables - I can now see why! The staff gave no apologies, were not polite and I will not be coming here again.

Rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need for a stay (including Ironing board, Iron and hair dryer). Food was excellent and served in a timely manner! Although it's on a main road, the car park is easy to access, and very large, and the road noise does not affect the rooms, restaurant, or bar area! All the staff we met, from the receptionist, to the bar staff and servers, and the cleaning staff we met in the morning, were very friendly, helpful and added to a very enjoyable stay!

Booked a night here as needed to be in the area. Wasn’t really bothered about the location but it was easy to find and the car park was nicely hidden for my motorcycle. The room was a bit tired but clean and comfortable. I had the breakfast. Decided on trying mushrooms and poached eggs on a muffin. Very nice. The staff were very good and for the price it was hard to beat.

I went here for Sunday lunch and the food seemed distinctly "pub chain" like. The pies my group had were beige and not that great (especially compared to a fantastic pub pie lunch I had recently). Accompanying mash seemed to have been prepared a long time before, as it had an almost tough potatoe edge (never had mash like this before), and the veg - 1 small carrot cut in half, a few peas and some cabbage that had been boiled to beyond recognition. Perhaps the restaurant food is better / different.

I love going here for dinner and evening meals. Great service, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. The food is lovely and although my party were half an hour late due to a road accident, there was no issues from the staff. The location is excellent just off the M4. I booked online and everything worked perfectly. Highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff.

Stopped here for lunch partway through a long drive. The hotel seems very modern at the reception, but when you go through to the restaurant/bar it has a very traditional pub feel, which was lovely. The food was great - I had the new York deli sandwich and my partner had the hand battered fish sandwich. The menu looked excellent, we'd definitely eat there if we were in that part of the world of an evening. The member if staff behind the bar was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly.

Great menu. Fair pricing. Booked table online. Busy bar and restaurant which was good to see. Great service throughout the evening and both our meals were great. We had to move to the bar after evening service (the dining room had to be prepared for breakfast) but this was fine and we stayed until closing time. A lovely evening, good food and would definitely recommend a visit.

Stayed for one night after visiting Bath. Room was extremely good value. It had seen better days but the bed was comfy the room was clean and the small bathroom did the job. Very much enjoyed the breakfast in the morning as well. Staff were friendly and the drinks in the bar were good too.
