We stayed overnight and loved it. The room was really comfortable and had a nice view over the river. The pub serves really good food and the staff are really friendly. It is also dog friendly which was great as we had our pup with us. Will definitely stay here again!

Had a delicious meal ( sea bass risotto) on my own with a good book for company. Staff were brilliant. Jay, my server, was intelligent, friendly, and really good at her job. Sometimes I can feel awkward as a solo diner, but not here. Everyone looked after me as if I was their best customer of the evening. I found this heartwarming, as the place was already packed with diners at 6, with lots of parties and celebrations. Fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, but the main stars are the welcoming and attentive staff. I will definitely be returning.

The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms lovely. The view of the river and boats brilliant. The staff so friendly and helpful. I would return although I've only put 3 stars, it has charm. But unfortunately details let it down. The front door hooked open late in to the evening in mid-November can make it very cold. We had a few problems eating in. Asking for no tomato at breakfast only for the egg to be omitted instead. A 40 minute wait when we were the only table for the guests breakfast. The balsamic bread with olive oil that had a really bitter after taste. No waitresses one morning, leaving the Chef doing a sterling job of filling in for them and doing his own job at the same time. The staff were all so friendly and helpful though.

Booked a family meal for twelve of us last Sunday. The staff really looked after us and we had a very relaxed time in a room overlooking the water. The foodβs good and the portions were large enough to fill two teenage lads. Very dog friendly venue as well. Very impressed and would recommend.

Nowadays for me, the deciding factor on whether I have a good night or not, isn't the food (although that's important) it's the service and the people. The team at this place are pretty good by any standard. Friendly, welcoming, attentive and efficient. Had a great evening, will definitely go again. Oh, and the food and drink were great too. Top marks from me.

Hi, We booked ahead for Saturday early evening meal. There was a mixture of weekend walkers, early evening meals/bar drinks. The place retains a mix of old warm pub/modern bright with windows outlook on the river plus garden with outdoor table seating. Good choice of menu combining trad pub food with more adventurous with vegetarian/vegan. I had salmon with beetroot starter, fillet steak, then vegan caramel cheesecake. The food was faultless. I would return. Plenty of parking, good clean restrooms.

Stopped in for a Sunday lunch this afternoon. The service was great, they had extra staff so it was table service which was prompt and attentive throughout. Food was fantastic, the roast was delicious. View was delightful, it was nice watching the rowers quietly glide up and down the river as you had your lunch.

An absolutely amazing place to stay, eat and drink. Shannon was exemplary; very professional and friendly. My room was gorgeous, with a copy of Wind in the Willows, and a Swallows and Amazon's map on the wall. The shower was excellent and the bed amazingly comfortable. The restaurant / bar and terrace / garden is beautifully presented, with a great range of drinks, and with excellent food. The breakfast was perfect. Excellent friendly and knowledgeable service from all staff. My mind has gone blank, but I think his name was Ben behind the bar. A great employee. The river views are wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here, or just going for a meal or a drink. I will definitely be back. Well done to you all!
