   My wife and I recently visited the Walker Slater store and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. We each purchased jacket blazers, and my wife also found a beautiful ladies’ coat. The quality of the craftsmanship is immediately evident — from the fabric to the fit — and the designs and prints are absolutely stunning. The staff (Freí) were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, making the whole experience a pleasure. We’re both looking forward to wearing our newest wardrobe additions this winter season. Highly recommend!

   My husband is looking to buy a tweed suit. He had previously been in the Grass Market location to try on the tweed suit jacket he liked and had a friendly experience. Today we went into the shop so he could show me his preference. A very rude female shop assistant told him he couldn’t try on the jackets as he might damage them if he tried the wrong size. He knows his size and rather than help him, we felt quite insulted. We live in Edinburgh and this is an expensive shop and we were prepared to buy one however I’m afraid we will be taking our business elsewhere now.

   The service by the sales personnel ruined what could have been a phenomenal shopping experience. The quality of the clothing is great for the price point, but the staff was neither knowledgeable nor helpful in my case, with the exception of a lady (whose name escapes me) who came to help with the fit of a suit. I went into the store to purchase two suits and other items, but the whole time I was made to feel like a bother when I asked for a different size or for a different item. No explanation was offered of the different fits, requests to try other sizes were met with resistance and the whole process was slightly unpleasant. I did buy one suit, and I am looking forward to using it, but I gave up looking for a second one because shopping at a store like this should be a pleasure, not a chore.

   I love this place so much, everything they have is amazing and such good quality. It is however on the expensive side! Also when you buy pants they fix them up free of charge for you, which I think is great.

   Great shop but the customer service here is awful. Went in a few days ago to ask about a Caban Coat and got beardy hipster with no charisma: “Do you have this in stock?” “No.” Do you know when it will be back in stock?” “No.” Can I order one specially?” “No.” Can I give you my context details and you can contact me when it next comes in?” “No.”

   Not only the shop is incredibly cosy and traditional, but the staff is mindful and kind while the fabrics and products are of outstanding quality. The quality to price ratio is one of its best for men's tweed pants. Bought two of them after more than 10 tryings. The sales person was really patient and took the necessary time for me to feel comfortable with my buying. Good point: they include cuts and fitting operations withing the base price without supplement to make sure your pant fits right. By default the pants are not cut to length on that very purpose :) Would 100% recommend.
