I come here for a pre-theatre dinner, and I really enjoy the experience. First, they have a pre-theatre menu, which for just 30 pounds you get a two-course dinner plus a glass of wine. A very good deal. The ham hock terrine is terrific, and comes with some greens as well. I also have the wild mushroom pot pie and it's done very nicely, very flavourful. It comes with chips and glazed carrots. And I get an excellent view of the harbour from the table, which is relaxing and provides a comfy setting in which to enjoy my meal. Service is quick, and servers are all very pleasant and attentive. I had a reservation elsewhere for this, but because of the horrid experience there I walked out. So glad I come by the River Grille. It's fortunate that I have a lovely dinner here.

Came to the river grille for a birthday, service was fantastic start to finish. We were running late and the staff were so accommodating. Seated with a view of the docs all lit up was a lovely touch, the table arrangements made the dinner feel personal and private. All staff were fanstastic; very polite, regularly checking in and so kind. Joe made our evening particularly fantastic. We enjoyed a birthday cocktail and desert which ended the evening perfectly. Staff were the perfect amount of involved in the dinner, all very charming and friendly. 10/10 would highly reccomend and will be returning. Cannot believe we haven’t been to this lovely place sooner. Also food was incredible!

Exceptionally fulfilling food. Great location. We sat right next to the long full size Window overlooking the riverside Walk. It was lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. The service was efficient and responsive. Orlaith was the service attendent who took our order. We took all of her suggestions and we were glad that we did. The food was delicious. Looked small portions but very fulfilling and Aesthetically beautifully presented. All staff were smiling and attentive at all times. It is a high end restaurant and I think the prices are worth the quality of food and the environment.

The food was so tasty! Staff was super friendly, funny and polite! The goat cheese with redbeet salsa is my ultimate favorite! The green olives were quite raw/fresh, we would prefer other type but these were good too. Overall amazing food and vibe, I definitely recommend!

My husband and I had our 25th wedding anniversary here when in town from America on business. We picked this because of the beautiful view. The food was impeccable. We had steaks and potatoes and appetizers. The staff all signed a card for us before we arrived and also treated us to a special dessert for our anniversary. It was romantic with a wonderful city view and cozy romantic atmosphere. Sophia was personable and wonderful! Thank you to all the staff for making us feel at home on our anniversary!

We booked for 12.30 and were the first people there. The staff were polite and attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Everything was clean and well presented. The waitress was informative and able to answer questions about allergies and tell us the ingredients of some of the things we enjoyed the most. It was expensive but as a treat, we enjoyed it very much!

The hubby and I enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner here tonight. The atmosphere was lovely with the live piano music and evening light cascading through the large windows. The food and drinks were very flavorful. The Golden daiquiri was delicious, as was my steak! I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Quite out of my comfort zone in a place like this, however dressed for the occasion. We were met and seated promptly. The service was outstanding!! I loved it, the afternoon tea was somewhat lacking and overwhelming at the same time, there were way too many desserts, 2 scones each, a Victoria Sponge, a lemon meringue each, a treacle sponge each, a chocolate fudge brownie each and 1 other that I cannot remember. There was only 2 small finger sandwiches of Ham and Dijon mustard, cucumber and soft cheese and a salmon topped bread. The desserts were rather sickly and overly sweet. The drinks were incredible. I would highly recommend anyone trying this place as an afternoon or evening away. As much as it wasn't for me I know plenty of people would have loved it.

Picked this place last minute because we fancied a good steak and was not disappointed! Beautiful view over the river, great food and service and not over priced. Thre was a small bar above the restaurant that gave an almost 'private' feel that looked great but unfortunately we didn't have time to stay, still it's a nice establishment throughout (shirt and shoes I would encourage, but no dress code as such) and I would definitely go back next time I'm in Bristol.
