We Normally use Brent house but thought we would try the carvery here and we have been pleasantly impressed on Both ocassions. The meat is lean and of good taste and value. proper yorkshire puddings.. would recommend to anyone.

A great village pub under a recent management change. Great menu and the roast dinners are spectacular. Plenty of parking available. It's a very short diversion off of the A38, if you're driving past.

Called in tonight by chance and new owners provided two excellent meals roast beef dinner and steak and ale pie. Next table to us a couple had the rump steak and said it was the best they have had for a while. I would highly recommend this place if your passing. Top marks

We arrived yesterday. 5/2/23 Table was booked for 1:30pm. We had to park out in the road…. As car park was full. Very busy when we arrived….. staff were very friendly chatty & helpful too. It’s our first time here. I was impressed! We were got our drinks & was shown to our table in this lovely conservatory area. Where every table was table apart from ours. Carvery service brilliant. Lovely little pub! Amazing Sunday carvery, with a choice of meats and all of the trimmings! Booking would be advisable as it gets really busy on a Sunday. Great service from the staff!! Would recommend!!

Always love the carvery here - proper "home cooked" style and always delicious. We were discussing how tasty the pork was as it so much more flavour than anything we can get at the supermarket - much more like meat from a farmshop. Staff are always warm, friendly and welcoming. Sunday's by 11.45am the carpark is full and the queue goes all the way from the door to the carpark with people waiting to get in when they open the doors at 12noon. That's always a good indication of quality food! It's not pretty a-la-carte dining, it's good, honest, tasty generous portions of really well cooked roast dinner - it's where people who like proper food go for a decent meal, not where you leave still hungry!!
