One of the nicest Indian restaurants I've ever been to. Food is so wholesome and light at the same time, great flavours and staff is so attentive. Great vegan options (and some meals can be made onion and garlic free, very rare for an Indian restaurant!) I will definitely be back!

We're big foodies and moved down from London 4 years ago and were shocked at the poor quality of the Indian food in Bath. We tried everywhere and ended up having to drive to Bristol every time we wanted a good curry. …Until Susmita's opened and not only is the food decent, it's also not too expensive. If you want good Indian cuisine in Bath, go here. I'm writing a review because it's a bit out of the way and often quiet inside and I really really don't want it to close down.

I was more enthusiastic about this restaurant from last couple of months especially looking at the authentic odiya dishes on their menu. However, the visit was getting deferred in view of distance from our place. Finally, we drove 3 hours yesterday for a dinner at this place . Its worth the effort. Being from Odisha, we got a very homely welcome and a personal guidance in selecting the food. I must say this place serves the best odiya cuisine. The starters like Chicken pakoda, chingudi chop and even paneer tikka reminded me the taste back home. Their most popular dish mansa kassa and even the macha tarkari were very authentic. U must try their innovative dish Chilli Baigana. The food was excellent. The ambience of the restaurant is also very pleasant. You can make out the hygiene conscience of the proprietors when you use the toilets and wash basins. Its a highly recommended place to visit.

After countless trips to Bath over the years, I can't believe I only just discovered Sushmita — and what a discovery it was! This place is an instant favourite and will now be a must-visit on every future trip. They serve authentic Odia and Bengali food, and every single dish we tried was a comforting, flavourful delight. The Chingri Chop, Lollipop, and Mutton Kosha were all outstanding, prepared with so much heart. It's honestly hard to pick a favourite because everything was just that good. The ambience is simple yet so warm. It truly felt like stepping into someone’s home. And speaking of homely, Bineeta was the cherry on the cake. Her warmth, and genuine hospitality turned a great meal into a memorable experience. She was a one man army truly! ❤️ If you're in Bath and craving something soulful, warm, and beautifully cooked — look no further. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves Odia/Bengali cuisine or just good food made with love. Thank you, Sushmita, for such a lovely experience. See you again very soon!
