This cafΓ© has delicious lunch options. I ordered the salmon quiche, and my mum had the haggis toastie. Both dishes were really good. The service is great too. I love the history behind this cafΓ©βit makes it feel special! I would definitely recommend it and come again.

Been here 5 times in the 2 visits Iβve had to Edinburgh - convenient location (right off the royal mile) whilst being a little bit back from the traffic of people. Usually a line at lunch time but it moves quickly. Interior is gorgeous and provides more of an experience than just a cafe! Food is delicious - I tried their paninis, scones & breakfast (my favourite is their eggplant & hummus panini). Would highly recommend this spot if youβre heading to Edinburgh!

Beautiful sitting. Delicious scones. Exceptional service. I went to enjoy tea and a scone. I asked for extra warm tea, which they kindly provided. They kindly replaced my half eaten scone after it fell, without asking or charge. I hope to visit again and fully recommend a visit to whoever is in the city.

We had the pleasure of having breakfast here whilst on holidays. The menu has good healthy choices and reasonable prices. Tasty food and great coffee. The staff were happy, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. There are toilets available across the path way outside. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend β€οΈ

Had a lovely lunch here. Had to wait 10 minutes for an inside seat but we donβt mind the wait as itβs always delicious and cosy here. I had a lovely leek and potato soup which was thick and creamy and then one of the best scones with cream and strawberry jam that Iβve ever had. I love the wall paintings which tell the story and the tearoom vibes.

Had a late breakfast here and opted for the creme cheese bagel with Scottish Salmon. It was great. Atmosphere is unique. Nice staff.

Very nice coffee shop just 2 mins from Edinburgh castle. The building where the cafe is quite old (few hundred years old at least. The cafe has seating inside and outside both. 5 star here is for the amazing staff, very friendly and very welcoming. Highly recommend.

The heritage of this place dates back to 1422 for their kitchen ceiling and other decorations of Brodie, if I remember the year correctly, are impressive, but I think this pace does not reach my F&B standards and thus three stars. The door gentleman responsible for assigning the seats showed surprise when he confirmed I was a solo traveller. I am not pleased by that, for what is wrong with travelling alone? He only noticed me waiting outside as they requested after his colleague reminded him. Unpleasant starting experience followed by that he asked me to switch tables by claiming there was another group of people waiting outdoor. I did not see the group coming in, but I followed his second table arrangements. The waiter did not set my table probably. No big deal for that. But his hands touched the top of salt and pepperβ¦. The latte art and the coffee itself are lovely. The food presentation is not bad.
