Just wanted to celebrate after my exam and got served an Aperol spritz that was extremely weak and when I mentioned it she said ‘ it’s one shot of Aperol and one shot of Prosecco, that’s what u pay for’ which is obviously not right as i have bartending experience myself. Very disappointed as it tasted like water and is supposed to be my favourite drink
We stopped in here for food on a night out. Had burgers chips etc . Food was okay I'd go again. The pub has a nice feel about it the staff were good. It was a Monday night so it wasn't packed but it wasn't quite. For a Edinburgh pub price was okay too.
Can't believe how good The Southsider was. Friendly helpful staff. Good range of well priced drinks. Food was good and exceptional value. Came as group after a museum visit and every one impressed. Fish and chips are especially recommended. Lots of sports tvs but no noise. Easy to talk. Customers were friendly. We will come again.
Had a great burger a pint and wine .. the bar tender was very nice and recommended a good place to experience scotch whiskey I think he said it was the black cat Unfortunate we never were able to make it there. We had a full itinerary while we were visiting from the United States. Great atmosphere lots of good vibe people having conversations and enjoying a pint or two.
Quite popular with students due to prices of drinks and meals on offer.
Nice and chill pub. Can be a bit too warm inside sometimes though. Great place for students as they have cheap drinks.
Decent pub, lager a nice pint and reasonably priced. What would it take to get 5 stars? I'm unsure as generally I'm just having a quick pint before my bus but pub and quality of pint are great thanks.
I visited the Southsider on Sunday and was super impressed. I went in to watch the rugby and had a great seat that I was able to keep an eye on the football as well. The team were fantastic and super attentive and friendly. There was a great selection on draught. Will definitely be back soon!
What a great local community pub! The team are always so friendly and always happy to recommend food and drinks which are also great value for money. Great place to watch sport and the quiz was supper busy and fun. The atmosphere at night was great especially when the students popped in!
