Our first time. I understand the point of contactless ordering but when it doesn't work it sucks. Their system requires you install an app and manually enter your credit card data. Sorry but that alone is enough for me to not recommend this place. As for the food, we ordered the pulled turkey croquets and the steak and ale pie. Plus a Guinness and a mojito. The food was good, the mojito just ok. But the ordering system messed up and we didn't get served drinks until our food arrived. The place is very loud and the service not great. So I can't recommend this place for anything more than a beer.

A handy stop right next to Haymarket Station. Fairly quiet during the day, bit busy if the football is on. Prices reasonable for the centre of Edinburgh

We were staying down near the zoo, and this place was fairly close to us. We found the atmosphere to be nice, the place was very clean. We had fish and chips, and the steak pie. Both were very delicious. We tried to come back a few days later, but they were so busy with a large party, the were not serving food until 8pm and we were starving ... it was 6:30. Wish we could've tried another couple dishes before we left.

Avoid the sandwiches. Almost spent 30 quid on two alledgedly chicken clubs with fries. After some time what arrived was a couple of extremely thick slices of almost toylike untoasted puffy white bread with a scant flinging of pre bought supermarket deli cubed chicken and bacon bits - almost like what you’d find in a Tesco meal deal? The thimble full of fries were clearly from a freezer bag and were a costly upsell . Staff member was very helpful in refunding but menu needs drastic fixing for this rip off.

Visited this pub on a busy Friday night. The space was bright and clean, but the service left a lot to be desired—staff were often on their phones and struggled to answer basic questions. The burger was quite good, but the steak and ale pie was underwhelming. Overall, an okay spot if you're not expecting attentive service.

Great wee place. Not far from where we were staying. Great atmosphere and food was delicious, we had the nachos to share.

It was a good vibe and the staff were lovely. I blended in seamlessly wearing bright pink in a crowd of men watching the footie. Jokes aside, nice selection of stuff on tap, good people watching spot and just the right level of background noise to tune out

First time visit, sat outside in the sunshine was very busy with a party of German tourists enjoying their beers and coffees, always a good sign if a place is busy. Got a free table ordered a bottle of wine at the bar, friendly welcoming staff. Enjoyed our wine in a luvly seated area with beautiful flowers and plants, a nice relaxing atmosphere, well worth a visit, ideal if like us you are waiting on your train across the road at Haymarket Station, handy location :) :)

Stayed in Edinburgh recently for a few days and this place was right near where we stayed. Ended up coming here every evening for some food and a few drinks as we really enjoyed it. The food was lovely, the customer service was great and the wait times were spot on!! It has a really great atmosphere and a very welcoming/homely feel to it. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in/visiting Edinburgh.
