   I had food delivered, it came in a nice thermal bag. The red dragon sushi roll and pumpkin curry were good, the aubergine goma was amazing. The wagyu Don tasted good, however a few of the meat pieces were very chewy (sinew-y), which was disappointing for a £23 dish.

   A very delicious Japanese restaurant. The tempura is highly recommended, the shrimp is very crispy. The eel rice is also very tasty. The desserts are just ordinary. There weren't many people on Sunday afternoon, which is very suitable for a get-together with friends.

   Came here for lunch and was blown away by the choice on the menu. Settled on a sizzling rice bowl with barbecued eel, but was tempted by the ramen, bento boxes and sushi. Delicious, filling and inexpensive. Staff were lovely

   Really tasty food. Staff were great and guiding a sushi novice. We ordered lots of the small plates so we got to try lots of different things, but the menu is huge. Can't wait to go back and try more! All the food came out super quickly too.

   Such a surprising experience at this restaurant! We went for dinner on a Monday evening and it was quite buzzing. Lovely staff, relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. The food was fresh & delicious. Especially recommend the salmon tataki which was an absolute treat.

   One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh. Bentoya has recently had a refit of their interiors — going from shabby to rather chic(!) with wooden dividers reminiscent of a true Japanese restaurant experience. The food is some of the best sushi I’ve had in London or Edinburgh with beautifully fresh fish and a generous selection of other options including vegetable tempura, Katsu curry, and other noodle dishes. Staff are efficient and welcoming, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend Bentoya to anyone wanting a speedy meal or who simply loves Japanese food.
