   We visited Bar Italia about 4pm on a Thursday for a late lunch. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. We ordered the Rocket salad (£12) and pizza Margherita (£12) Both the salad and the pizza were delicious. The service was prompt and efficient. The atmosphere is a comfortable authentic Italian setting with several murals covering the walls. We will visit Bar Italia again when we return to Edinburgh.

   Bar Italia,was the best Italian meal Bar None !! We were looking for a good Italian,but we stumbled on the best!! Brescetta was crisp and tasty, Lasagna was incredible, served to us bubbling hot,pizza was thin and crispy with amazing toppings. When ingredients are fresh and staff care about their food,this is the result. From the owners through to the waiters,all Italian,making authentic pizza & pasta and much more. Even the chilli oil is home made on the premises. We chose dessert of Strawberry, Pistachio & Chocolate all of which were spot on,and is award winning. This top Italian has been going since 1978 and you can see how it's lasted and flourished now and in the future. Would highly recommend to all

   Authentically Italian! Excellent ambience and service was top notch. Have to book as it’s heaving in here. We had to wait a little while for our table to be ready but was worth it. The seafood pasta could have had a little more seafood. The squid ink pasta was on the drier side but the sauce was delicious and had a good depth. Mussels were plump and stewed in a tangy white wine sauce. Calzone was deep filled and had a crispy crust.

   Beautiful authentic Italian food in the heart of Scottish capital. Family owned and run, it gives you that feeling of home-cooked meal. We have visited on numerous occasions and we always leave satisfied. A must-visit when in Edinburgh.

   I spent an enjoyable evening here with friends during a visit to Edinburgh. We arrived without a reservation but they did their best to squeeze us into their busy restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. We did have a long wait for someone to take our order, but our food arrived quickly once we had ordered. We all enjoyed our pasta dishes, which were authentic and delicious. The portions were perfectly sized too and left us just enough space for dessert, wine and hot chocolate. The authentic Italian hot chocolates (a choice of dark, white or salted) were thick and delicious, like nothing we had experienced before! I would definitely recommend trying these. All in all a lovely place to visit but I would suggest booking to secure a table.

   One of the best Italian Restaurants we've ever been! We had an absolutely fantastic evening! We've been in a lot of Italian restaurants before (in Italy and all around Europe) and this is one of the best. Service was very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious. You can definitely see and taste that everything is homemade. The pasta has just the right texture and all components work fantastic together. A must try is definitely the homemade gelato. I love pistacchio ice cream and I tried a lot before and this one was the very best. We will come back!
