There were 5 of us and we wanted to grab a quick dinner. Without a reservation, we got a table instantly, and the waiters are very kind from the first moment. Throughout the night, they were very attentive and paid very much attention to my gluten intolerance. I got the gluten-free hamburger and it was nice, but it was quite dry and not juicy. Others got to the haggis which was very delicious and juicy so I would recommend getting that one. Atmosphere is very cozy.

Felt like you are going into a small pub joint but it is big in the inside with a lot of sitting in their (I think) three story building. We got Auld Hundred steak pie and Traditional scampi supper. They taste great and the portion is just about the right size for a hungry patron.

An average Sunday roast… Came here for Sunday roast but was quite disappointed with the standard of food. The vegetables were bland, the gravy was watery, veggie haggis looked like it had been eaten and excreted before it was put on my plate (see photo for proof). The staff were really nice and at the end of the day I was quite hungry so ate it anyway and it was meh.

We hadn't booked for dinner, and they said it would be an hour or so, so we sat downstairs at the bar enjoying a few pints while waiting. At the restaurant I had rhe haggis neeps and tatties, which is always a favourite of mine. And here it was amazing. Paired with a few dark good 80 shillings ale. One of the few 80/- Ive found Ive found in rhe city. Also had a whisky. But they were 25cl and felt pricey Will definitely be back!

Highly recommend getting a reservation but if you don't mind having a drink downstairs in the bar it was only 30 minutes and the seating is so cozy. I love the staff here. They are very friendly and helpful and the food was some of the best I've had in Edinburgh. Definitely go for the fish and chips.

Before exploring the city we wanted to eat something anywhere I’m glad my friends and I ended up there. Truly great experience. The lady Alex there was a superwoman ✨ How can she be everywhere and doesn’t feel tired Loved this place more because of her… Have a look at my Fish and chips and the dessert baileys cheesecake ❤️❤️

A hidden gem. Cunningly concealed in Rose Street, there's a great dining room up a spiral staircase. An interesting menu, reasonably priced. The food was delicious and well-presented, and we didn't have long to wait. Also a specials board and a selection of ales. Friendly & attentive staff. Recommended.

Popped in for evening meal advise to pre book. Greeted by friendly waiter and seated. Food was delicious i had the steak pie highly recommended and hubby had the Balmoral chicken said it was slightly dry but wasn't a problem. Desserts looked delish too but I didn't have any room left.
