Just stayed for two nights, first impressions good, decent location, nice staff, clean room. First night was good however on the second night the hotel was hosting a huge Xmas party which was held in a conference room two doors down from our room. The noise was horrendous and when the party ended at god knows what time a lot of the attendees came past our room.worse for wear after too much drink. If the hotel knew about the event why put guests not at the event in the same wing when there was plenty of other rooms available. Really poor, for this reason I couldn't recommend this hotel at all.

I had 2 nights here, arriving late on a Friday after a nightmare journey through floods/accidents etc. I found the receptionists lovely - the chap on when I arrived had been advised of my delays (should have been there for half 3, arrived at gone 6!) and had asked the restaurant to hold my reservation, which was very much appreciated! My room (301) was advertised as a small double, but honestly it was a great size! Lots of space and storage, a fantastic bathroom with rainfall shower, coffee maker (Dolce Gusto which does need instructions, and if you make a cappucino use BOTH pods!) plenty of heating and fan options, good towels, black out blinds and curtains - in all honesty it was brilliant! It was a nice quiet room too. I ate at the restaurant both nights, alone and with friends, having calamari, steak, prawns, pasta, salads and desserts, and all were good quality, fresh, hot (not the salads, lol!) and thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfasts were great too, hot, good quality - yay for decent sausages! - and there was a good selection of everything you could want. The staff were all good, particularly Kaitlyn in the restaurant, she's an asset! My main issue is the signage as you arrive in the dark - it's hard to see, not sure if a bulb has gone on the sign? Overall value was great, and I'd recommend The Gables to anyone, and I will definitely be back.

We found this hotel to excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff, very friendly, polite and helpful . (Zoli is probably one of the hardest working member of any hotel staff I've encountered , the man simply doesn't seem to stop). Breakfasts were of a good standard & with plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast being hot as it should be and constantly replenished. Evening meals in the onsite restaurant were very good. The bar is also a nice area to relax in. Don't let the outside of the building and grounds put you off (which could do with a tidy and lick of paint in places). The staff made our stay at this hotel a complete pleasure.

Really friendly staff always happy to help. It’s actually the first place I try to get a room when I know I’m working close. But to be honest I even traveled an hr from site just to stay at this specific hotel. The gym is clean and has plenty of equipment and I always jump in the sauna after and sometimes to finish off I’d visit the pool. All the facilities are great just like the staff. Oh and my room was always clean and fresh when I arrived back each day. Looking forward to working around that area again

Lovely hotel. Nice welcome, moved to a quiet room on the back of the hotel. Room was lovely and warm, super clean, bed really comfy. Much cheaper than staying in hotels near Bristol. I wasn't feeling 100% and was travelling but thanks to a lovely restful night incl a nice bath in the evening and a hot shower first thing, I had a good next day. Thanks to lovely staff.

Very nice hotel, rooms slightly dated but warm and clean. Restaurant was super along with friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money for room rates. Would stay again

Well Breakfast was very good, quality in all elements! Just need mugs not cups for Tea :-) We stayed for a murder mystery event which was great as we won! Bedroom was clean and bed quite comfortable. Rooms could do with some updating. They have a new Marco's restaurant, did not get to try, but food, especially main course for event was simple but quality very good...especially the sauce!!

Only stayed one night so can not comment on the main meals. The breakfast was really fab. The cooked full English was tasty and well presented. I also had dried fruits , (apricots etc)yogurt and cereal , plenty of variety for everyone. Our room was very clean and contained all all we needed for a very relaxing stay. The beds appeared to be a bit too soft at first and did move a little when you sat on them but a wonderful night's sleep was had so that's a hit with me. We didn't hear much noise at all,so will definitely be coming back again! Well done to the staff.

After a botched (by me) Expedia booking. The hotel went above and beyond to help us. Sophie and Jaz were wonderful. We were greeted with kindness with a high level of professionalism. We had an executive room, which was beautiful, comfortable and what you would expect from a much more expensive hotel. The breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice. We’ll definitely be back.
