I took my two 17 year old girls for dinner and to join in on the new quiz. Service was absolutely fantastic even though it was extremely busy , food was amazing and the atmosphere was good . Good banter with the quiz and plenty of warning that we had to vacate by 9pm due to my daughters being under age . Tables are booked for next quiz and bringing some friends . The young girl on the bar was so friendly and told me that her sibling also worked there and introduced himself . Definitely will be back
The Counting House is an amazing restaurant and pub. They were very busy as it was a Saturday afternoon. We were there when a parade came by. Everyone at the restaurant was super friendly, and the food was fresh! Highly recommend the haggis fritters!
We have been here on a number of occasions but the last was the worst ever. We came in as a one off treat during the day in the afternoon. We ordered the two dinner deal at £12.99 plus a steak pie. I had the fish and chips which to be fair, wasn't great. The batter was too crispy and the fish was cold. They didn't have and peas left, so I was given baked beans (not great with that dinner). My wife got steak pie with mash. When it arrived, she said it was dry as anything and of course, not hot. The barmaid asked if she wanted extra gravy but my wife declined incase she got charged extra. She also said her veg was cold and hard. Our daughter got macaroni, which also wasn't great. In all, a disappointing visit. It's been like this most times we have visited. Unfortunately, that will be our last. **Edit** Having exchanged emails with Kerry, the manager, she very kindly invited the three of us back for a free dinner. Which was anything we wanted from the menu. Any main and soft drinks. This visit was much better than the last. Couldn't fault a thing. The food was hot and really good. It was such a lovely gesture to do this and made our week. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to be back again soon. Service was great and the staff are so nice too and welcoming. Thank you again Kerry.

Best haggis eaten in Scotland was here. Great value for money. No frills pub.
Stopped in here for lunch and found it to be pretty decent. Had a haddock goujons sandwich and a coffee, which was pretty fine! Decent prices and pleasant staff
