Been using Lido Chef for a good many years and not had a bad meal until today. Late delivery over an hour the food looked as though it had been under a heat lamp to keep it warm. Very disappointed

We ordered and paid for a special Chow mein. When got it back home ,it was not what we ordered. It was a rice dish not noodles with lots of rice and little else. Mark 18 on the lid. Not what we normality get very dissapointed

Staff seemed rude to me on the phone. I’m allergic to bean sprouts so I specifically asked for no veg in my chow mein, but it arrived with all the veg in it and this is now the second time this happening. I also repeated myself to make sure there wasn’t any veg in the chow mein so confirmed at the end of the order that it was no veg. 2 times in a row this has happened so won’t order from them again

Always ordered our food from lido, previously of excellent service but recently they rarely answer the phone and when they do the lady that answers gets very huffy if we pay by card over the phone , as their website no longer accepts card payments. As it’s been a bit of a chore ordering from lido we have decided to take our custom elsewhere. It’s a shame as the food is excellent but the recent service mediocre.

/ Edit: Unfortunately we have to change the rating to 3*, as none of the other meals we tried were great. Beef in black bean sauce was very watery, smelled strange and didn’t have much flavour. Egg fried rice was horrible, it was definitely not cooked fresh and had no flavour to it whatsoever. Crispy chilli beef had very little beef in it and a lot of batter, not nice. Chicken balls were great, massive portion and great flavour. / We ordered online and went to pick it up, food was ready within 25 mins from ordering. The lady on the till was friendly and polite. The shop was rather cold as the heating was not on, although this wasn’t too important as one doesn’t spend too long in there. We had a plain chow mein, salt and pepper chicken, spring rolls and curry sauce. Paid £16 for everything, which felt reasonable especially in comparison to other takeaways in the area. The noodles were nice, massive portion too, plenty for 2 people, very good value for money. The salt and pepper chicken could have been a bigger portion, but was overall pleasant, had a nice kick to it. We didn’t enjoy the spring rolls as much - they didn’t have much flavour or filling, were greasy, but didn’t have high expectations as not many takeaways make them well/homemade. Nice enough if you dip them in curry sauce though. Overall, we would recommend this takeaway. We look forward to trying other dishes soon.
