Bar staff & chef were really friendly. The place was nicely decorated & clean. We managed to just miss the busy time. Food was delicious & I wasn't able to finish mine, which is rare for me! Would definitely visit again.

The burger I had was absolutely unbelievable! The perfect meal after a day of hiking along the Wye… the atmosphere was calm yet alive, perfect for the small village feel. But above all the service was some of the best I’ve experienced. All the staff are so nice. The owners make you feel welcome the moment you meet them… I don’t live nearby but I will be returning.

Popped in for some food and drinks after a long walk around the area. Food was amazing in presentation and taste. Unfortunately the chef left a bad taste in our mouths after saying we were racist if we didn’t leave a review and later telling a woman in the group that she had a face made for radio, and that with beauty like that, there’s no need to come back. The first comment I can brush off as a joke but calling a young woman you’ve just met and is a paying customer ugly to her face is a step beyond edgy banter. He had otherwise seemed pretty funny up to that point, singing in the kitchen and chatting to customers. Fortunately, the young lady in question is resilient and took it in stride but it left a damper on the experience.

Really good, nice atmosphere and served quick. Chips were good and a good selection of bar snacks. Madri beet however was very expensive, the same price I'd pay in London but in Hereford might be a bit steep. Other than that a great country pub.

We visited as new owners were taking over, great couple! We didn't book a table which is our fault... then the chef I believe was called Nick saw us looking online for other places to eat but went out of his way to offer us food, absolutely amazing service, havnt ever or probably won't ever see it again, plus the food was delicious!

Excellent meal. Such a varied and unusual menu, a credit to the chef. Front of house were excellent on a busy night and the food was wonderful. Nice beer garden at the back also. I always come here on last night of holiday to finish on a high, and it never let's me down. Oh, and the throw back Thursday Arctic roll was brilliant tonight. Supposed to be for kids, but too good to waste on them.

Went for a meal here on a Saturday evening, seemed fairly busy, and 18 of us in total. We had heard that the service was slow, so had booked early at 5pm, but also because we had 8 little kiddos that needed to be fed early and we were camping at Tresseck campsite, a 2 min walk away. But the menu had masses to offer, the service was really quite quick, and the plates a great size. I had the cider braised ham and chicken salad, and it was delicious, a great size for the price (£13) and lots of different yummy choices like stuffed peppers, homemade coleslaw and crunchy onion topping mixed in. Others in the party had burgers (very nice, quite large; a vegan option available) and the lamb (really lovely, especially with a bright and zingy orange and parsnip veloute mash thing). The hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely outside dining at the back, under a grapevine covered pergola area, and a pretty beer garden full of cosmos and rudbeckia flowers, with a stream at the end (beware the crocodile!!) Thank you for looking after us x
