Had the best day fishing the River Tweed with Graeme! He was very helpful and knowledgeable. All around nice guy and unforgettable time! Caught several brown trout and a couple greyling! Would have been happy just getting out but Graeme know what he was doing and helped us catch some fish. If you’re looking for a great experience fly fishing in Scotland, I couldn’t recommend Alba more!
We had an amazing day on the River Tweed with Graeme! He knew exactly where the honey pots were, and thanks to his expertise we caught plenty of trout and even a huge grayling. Great fishing day with Scott Rutherford! The river is beautiful. I learned how to Spey casting, Scott was really patient throughout the lesson. After lunch, we got on a boat to deeper spots at the river. The booking process was really smooth. Stewart is responsive to email inquiries and accommodating. Highly recommended. I would do it again.
We would recommend Alba Game Fishing to anyone. We came from the states for an 8 day tour which they organized for us. Was a great experience both on the river and off. Fished the river tweed, river spey and river ness. Each very beautiful and all a bit different. Stewart, Mark, Fergie, Sam all great teachers who know their stuff and are very patient and great people. We were happy to get to see different areas of Scotland. Happy to stay in some amazing places. Happy to eat and try Scottish food (haggis may not be my thing and had best venison of my life) We booked our trip 14 months ahead of arrival and clearly that helps ensure things come off without a hitch. Would do trip again in a heart beat and believe there are more amazing places to explore in Scotland and we would be ecstatic to do another trip with the Alba crew. If you have read this far…..do yourself a favor and book the trip. They are a well run class act.

A life-long angler, it has been a bucket list goal of mine to cast on the historic River Spey. The history and traditional techniques of fly fishing on this storied water are respectfully shared by local landowners, ghillies, and guides. Each performs an essential role in carrying on these traditions allowing anglers like me to immerse themselves in the experience. Stewart Collingswood planned my day to the finest detail. Ghillie Ian Stronach met us and introduced me to his beat on the Upper Brae Water where Cuillin illustrated his expert knowledge and guided me in the traditional techniques of spey casting. Surprised my husband with a fishing excursion with Bill on our holiday to Scotland. Neither of us had fly fished before and Bill was more than helpful in teaching us what we needed to have an enjoyable experience. Overall, the event was even more enjoyable than anticipated! Bill drove us to a beautiful and secluded spot to spend our day. He shared local facts about the area and always kept us entertained through our entire day out. Not to mention the wonderful scotch he brought that we toasted to at the beginning and end! It was definitely an enjoyable experience that both the husband and I enjoyed and will remember!
