Staff were great couldn’t do enough for us, the rooms are tired and could do with a refurbished while it was clean and tidy it’s just old, the door to the bathroom was very squeaky thankfully I had some WD40 in the car. I think the old TV could have been removed instead of just putting another TV in front of it, in this day and age USB plug socket would be useful.

Stopped in for lunch after a walk on the wall. Stood at door waiting for hostess to show us to table because we had our dog. Ordered our food, asked for a water bowl for dog which waitress said she’d bring right over, never came. No silverware served, luckily I was sitting next to the service area so got it myself. My husband had beef cheek pie, which was lovely but….instant mashed potatoes! They were like wallpaper paste. The peas were frozen and just dipped in hot water. I had the burger which was good but whatever the accompaniment was on my plate was awful. Thought it was coleslaw. The chips were cold and broken pieces. Server never came back to table to ask if we’d like more coffee or water. In fact, didn’t see a server the whole meal. Restaurant itself is lovely, clean with beautiful views. Service and food put me off so I wouldn’t return.

Firstly cannot fault food or staff however room allocated was very tired, definitely in need of a refurbishment. Carpet didn't feel clean and there was a smell reminiscent of an ex smokers room. Sadly on the 2nd night sleep evaded us completely as there was a permanent 'extractor type' noise all night. No staff are on site from 10pm til 7am so we were unable to flag this up until the morning. The area is great for walking dogs and bar/restaurant very dog friendly. It is such a shame, a place with loads of potential just needs money investing in it. For the cost of our stay expected basic but with slightly higher expectations. If you choose to book, do so direct as cheaper than online booking websites. We are sure they could charge 3 times the amount with investment. Thank you Anne for hearing our concerns and looking after us. Unless refurbished, sadly won't be returning.

We went to the restaurant. The staff was very nice the food was very good. And when I say very good I mean we came in between meals and everything was hot and fresh. The deserts were some of the best I've had. They clearly take pride in preparing a good meal. Prices were reasonable for what we had seen. If I am ever in this area again, I'm stopping without a second thought.

Delightful place to eat especially for the narrow canal people. The atmosphere is lovely and very restful/peaceful. The wait staff are personable and professional. Service was impeccable. Options provide a variety of well prepared. There are also vegan items on the menu.

Popped I'm with the family for lunch on a Sunday, It was busy but we were accommodated although I'd recommend a reservation. We both had Battered Haddock, "Posh Chips" and peas. It was lovely, Far better than the usual outing to 'spoons. Kids had Mac and Cheese, they had nothing to complain about, After this we took a short walk over the canal to the new playpark.

Nice place but ensure you don't get placed next to the door on a cold day. It is proper freezing there. Vegan burger and chips okay but a little undercooked and over-priced. Mums dentures struggled with the crusty sandwich but she said it was tasty.

5 Nov 22 Service excellent, lovely open fire burning in the dining area created a nice atmosphere for a quiet dinner and drinks. Food could have been better, not up to the standard of previous visit.

Booked in advance for an evening celebration dinner. Staff are exceptional, they are not only friendly but caring and genuine. The food was delicious. Great sized portions and the staff offer to box up any food not eaten. The setting of the Restaurant is beautiful and if you are lucky to get a window seat it is lovely to look out at the boats on the canal. I cannot recommend any more. Definitely will be returning. The staff made my son feel so special for his birthday. Thank you
