A pub full of history, great service and good food. I had the duck which was very tasty. My husband had a burger with a lovely salad on the side.

Lovely place with good food and excellent service. The atmosphere was amazing, with quality music and a wonderful moldy wine. I also loved the decorations, and itβs a pet-friendly place, which is a big plus. I highly recommend it to everyone!

This pub was very convenient to our hotel, so we visited a few times during our stay in Bath. Lots of little rooms and seating options. My friend loved the Greene King mac and cheese.

We absolutely enjoyed our dinner. We were there on an exciting night because the British ladies football team won against Spain. We salmon cakes, breaded and fried, salad with fried houloumi cheese, and mint pea soup with sourdough bread. It was all delicious! Lots of seating options in the front, back and at the bar.

LOVE this pub! We went in June 2025 and Sarah was a terrific server! Food and drinks were wonderful and the history of the place is so cool! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Bath! β€οΈ

Loved the pub, lots of tvs showing the football. Food looked great, although didn't try it personally. The staff were friendly and helpful and were always keeping on top of glass clearing. Good atmosphere.

Possibly the worst lunch Iβve had in a long time. I had sausage and mash. The sausages were like they were reheated from breakfast or yesterday. Similarly the mash had clearly been around a while - starchy / sticky texture. The cabbage was cooked in some bonkers cheffy way - quartered to a wedge that looked like it was pan roasted so that it was charred on two sides and raw on the other and in the middle. The gravy was nice tho, as was the beer. There was also a gang of noisy locals sat around different parts of the bar having a yelled conversation.

The oldest pub in Bath and not far from the main tourist area. Staff lovely and welcoming with quick and attentive service. We had traditional pie and mashed potato. Reasonably priced and great taste surrounded by an old ambience

Just by luck we found this place after we decided to get some food and drinks. Saw that it was the oldest pub in Bath. It was so easy to order at the bar and seating was great. We then realized we were sitting at a pub that Charles Dickens had been a regular in. That's like amazing! Many beers and drinks were had. Their assortment of food was also enjoyable to help with all the alcohol intake.

Really lovely pub. Very lovely and cheerful service. Alerted us that the drinks ticket machine sometimes has trouble publishing the ticket in good time, so recommended going to the bar to ensure we're not waiting long :) Amazing food, good portions and prices. With plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere. Dickens corner is cool too! :D
